Sang this song in 9th grade at All State choir ; they nailed the energy / phrasing of "over and aROUnd us lies" - I remember the choir director repeating that line with us 763 times.

This is wonderful song, and it is a good performance. The only problem that I have with this interpretation is how marcato it is. This song is meant to be legato. I have this exact arrangement in front of me as I type and John Rutter says right at the beginning in the piano line "legato, delicato"

Having sung this several times and being a fan of John Rutter this is a delight and a remembrance of my trip to London and hearing it at Mass. (Yes, we Anglicans also call our service liturgy 'Mass'.) And The choir gave William and Kate the gift of 'This Is The Day' by Rutter for their wedding.

I hope the present St Paul Cathedral Choir is as good as this one was back in 2009. I feel this is probably the best Choir of any church in the UK.
