Somehow, I don't find this piece to be very eerie. It's more dramatic and overall beautiful.
@joelrichardson51395 жыл бұрын
Its not intentionally eerie, more depressed, because it’s about dancing with the dying. That’s why the song has happy moments that teeter on collapsing into minor and why there are sad, drawn out moments. It’s the balance between the inevitability of the end and the semi happy dance that takes place with the living.

@@joelrichardson5139 I think that's your vision/interpretation of the piece but each person has the own way to visualize it. See, minor keys aren't the "representation of sadness", minor keys are beautiful and are those who usually brings more expression and 'wavering'(modulation) into the music. What you think that is "depressed and sad" that "represents last happiness after death", for me is like a party of skeletons who are just vibing and trolling loll it doesn't have a only one "right" way to see it, if classical music had to be so strict and composers needed to say for the public how the piece should be imagined in all details, it wouldn't be music lol and it would be super boring. Don't ruin the magic, music is abstract and has infinite meanings, each piece has its purpose and main idea ofc you need to follow it properly (technically and musically), but interpretations depends by each person.

What you're looking for is romantic era music, both Mussorgsky and Camille Saint-Saëns come from that era. If you look for classical era music (like Mozart or beethoven), their music will be less poignant because their career depended more on pleasing the high society.
