This fourth concerto for piano by Saint-saens has always benn my preferred one among the five that he wrote. I hear it as variations on choral-like themes. This gives to it an unity of style that we do not retrieve in the others. The idea is great. But all his concertos for piano are good. The interpreatation is excellent.

I really enjoyed this version, even though it was a bit slower than I was used to. This allowed the piano and orchestra to be as clear as a bell, which was a nice surprise.

Thank you for posting this beautiful performance of this great concerto. I find that the set of all five of the concerti by Anna Malikova with Thomas Sanderling are among my very favorites, along with Collard/Previn and Rogé /Dutoit. The pacing, nuance and superb hand-in-glove performances in each case make these sets a source of great pleasure.

Better than Rogé/Dutoit, regarding this concerto at least, but no version can stand against the old Cortot/Munch.

Camille Saint-sêns tres grand compositeur aussi bien que violon et pianoaux entario et autre sonate je l'ecoute tres souvent c'est un grand pour moi!
