Just now seeing this, tracked some of my ancestors down to the original, church that this church was built over, at the time this was outside one of the walls...to evade the taxes of the 'city' it was when this area was considered rural

My wife and I took mass in that church. Really liked the area and the Luxembourg gardens is a short walk from the church.

PS, we were there in 2012, it was no where as clean and beautiful as you see in the video. I donated some euros to help start the cleanup.

St Sulpice was the church that Sylvia Beach used to attend in the early 20th century. She owned the original Shakespeare and Company bookstore in the 5th arrondissment and published James Joyces' "Ulysses."
