Truth is whether we pick high or low, it's more important to draft good players. I can think of many drafts where my favorite prospects were in the 20 to 50 range (Jaelen Phillips, Nick Bolton, & Paulson Adebo come to mind). This past year Jared Verse was a favorite player (I scout for hobby) and he went 19th. Shoot, and some positions you get great value. I absolutely loved Ivan Pace Jr and Kyren Williams. They went undrafted and day 3. We need to draft better, not necessarily pick higher. Otherwise you're getting Chase Young or Zach Wilson 2nd overall. One way to do that is our draft grades should be completed before the combine even starts. Trust the film. You shouldn't need a combine to know that Tariq Woolen is athletic, and you shouldn't need a 40 time to know whether Jarvis Landry can play football or not. Regardless of where we pick, i think we'd be better served to ignore what Trevor Penning does at drills that are performed without pads when you have 2 years worth of games you can watch. We're not building a 400 relay or powerlifting team.

The saints should of been tanked when they had Winston and Dalton. Instead Mickey restructured contracts . Now we are weak at multiple positions. Interior line and edge rushers lbs WRs DTs we are thin or old everywhere. Bad drafting and failure to identify and develop players...that's the biggest fail of all

And no one really buys o-line rookie jerseys except their moms. Exercise #2: What 3 players between 22-25 years old do you want to see on this team, and think they’d contribute to a new foundation? 1. Fuaga 2. Werner 3. Underhill is crazy if he thinks the Saints are NOT going to pick up Pennings 5th year, they are. And absolutely NO ONE is paying an injury prone, average, WR2 30 million a year. Those big dollar deals are for big time players, and Chris Olave is NOT that. Olave probably isn't even with the Saints in two years, they're picking Shaheed over Olave and that's the right choice.

I really hope they lose out. BUTT...the NFL NARRATIVE won't allow it. The Saints will get that call from the leagues office in N.Y.C. on game days for the green 🍏 light wins and Red 🍒 light L'$. I think it'll be between 5 to 6 wins tops this year. The NFL will stick it to New Orleans of the #1 pick. I guarantee it. On another note, hope the Saints give Primetime Deon Sanders a call for the Head coaching job. Primetime in New Orleans would be very intriguing.
