hopefully there's a NG+ or mission replay in this time. not having those is what really hurt SR3 and 4 for me. for me it just makes it harder to want to finish a game like this knowing that it's just a one and done experience, that none of your hard work carries over to a new playthrough or that late game unlocks become pointless due to how short lived they are.

This is exactly what killed 3 & 4 for me as well. You put so much time into upgrades, customization, and completing story and side activities only to be left with a lifeless map that isn’t varied or interesting enough on its own to explore or mess around in. Co-op helps with that but still... By the time you reach the end your character is so powerful from upgrades that any fight with police or aliens becomes trivial. A new game plus or mission replay system would be awesome. That said, I like how in this new SR you equip upgrades, rather than permanently switching them on.

As someone who has played and owns all the Saints Row games across xbox 360 & xbox one NG+ is definitely something I want to see, maybe have it so we can complete the game on various difficulties and certain number of times, maybe even with a male then female boss and unlock rewards that can only be obtained by fulfilling these requirements, replayability is definitely something that they need to be thinking about, and give us achievements/trophies that relate to this too.

At this point I just want a Saints Row game with the mechanical depth of Saints Row 2, which is still the best in this series as far as variety in customization, exploration, and combat. They brought back the gender slider from SR 2 which goes back to giving players more control over the exact shape of their character's frame, which is a good sign that maybe they'll bring back other elements from Saints Row 2, like changing your fighting style and walk animation. Not expecting any of that though... Maybe we'll go back to having more variety to the pedestrians and their behaviors based on where they live and what kind of NPC they are? You know, like in SR 2? Or maybe we'll have more interesting and varied locations like the Prison Island, Caves, and underground Shopping Mall with its unique clothing shops? Stuff like that made SR 2's open-world fun to explore for me. Freckle Bitches also makes a return so maybe you can buy consumables again like alcohol to get your character drunk, food to restore health, blunts to get high, etc. I sincerely doubt it, but I also want to be proven wrong.

If they can't even add that in a 2022 release, then what hope is there? Still hope to be proven wrong, but just in case I'm not buying this on day one. Saints Row 3's gameplay and world were so shallow compared to Saints 2 and I really don't wanna go down that road again.

The only hope is that, like halfway through the campaign they find some ancient mural depicting the Saints fleur-de-lis logo and carvings of the actual main crew, detailing how their time traveling has created alternate timelines and this is just one of many instances of how the 3rd Street Saints were formed.

saint's row 2 was goofy, but still walked the line of seriousness with it's grittier, raw world and focus on gang activity. that juxtoposition is what made it so alluring and fun. the newer ones are too cartoonish stylistically. combine that with the outlandish mechanics at the core of saints row, and it almost always ends up looking like a parody of itself. its been overcooked; sacrifcing the flavour

Was laughing out loud at that mission 😂 The biggest gripe I had with 4 is that the whole super powers crap made vehicles and weapons pretty pointless. Oh and the fact that the attempts at humour were just not funny at all.

Only one game series has ever done "no two players game will be the same" and that's LoTr games Shadow of Mordor and Shadow of War and that's only because of the nemesis system. For SoW I had my first ever killer end up becoming the VERY final boss of the last strong hold I had to take over. Me and him tussled many many times, I'd always kill him but he'd always come back with some grievous scar vowing revenge, no matter how many times I bested him, he would come back. Eventually I go into the final stronghold and there he is, taunting me from above. Will never have such an epic game moment ever again as an Orc being beaten down by me so much that he eventually rises to leader of a giant stronghold and tries to take revenge on The Ranger who bested him every single time.

One huge detail that needs more attention is that the game will have 5 difficulty levels. On top of that there will be several settings you can tinker with as well. So you will be able to make harder difficulty levels less challenging and vice versa.

Well my right arm cuts off right after the elbow so I use that to press buttons and use the right analog stick. It makes it a little tricky to press the trigger and bumper buttons, but if I have a controller with back paddles I'll map the left paddles to trigger and bumper. However if I can change the controls in game then shooting will be a breeze, and it helps save on money so I don't have to consider 3rd party pro controllers

I might think about buying after I check out the mod scene and how outlandish they can make the game. I want irreverent humor that disregards taste or social norms like the good years of Family guy/Married With Children/Aqua teen Hunger Force and the like. I want a game that separates itself from GTA to the point of being almost parody, if I wanted to play GTA, I would play GTA. I want it to be very light on social commentary to the point that it refers to RL politics and events in only the broadest of terms and rarely. I can go to just about any modern story driven game and get my fill of soapboxing. While I had fun with 4, I can also see why it cannot be sequeled..where do you go from Alien Conquerors and escaping from hell. What I did love is all the goofy references to sci fi and other media. The over the top characters of SR is what really made it, I am not seeing ANY of that charisma so far in the sneak peeks I have watched. I would say some elements of 2 with a lot of 3's goofiness in terms of some missions or side missions. Like when 4 made the super powers permanent, that was a bit much, but the mission in 3 where the guy made the concoction that gave you powers on as limited basis, and was done late into the game, was great.

Playing Red Dead Redemption 2 and dropping it due to boredom made me realize I missed those older open world games that focused on the player experience and over-the-top fun. Sometimes it’s nice to hop into a cartoony, arcadey, and silly game to just mess around in. Don’t expect realism, don’t expect great storytelling or writing, don’t expect top tier graphical fidelity or performance, don’t expect a living/breathing open world, don’t expect the next GTA…keep your expectations low and in check and you’ll be fine (not just for this game but for any game you’re hyped up for… it’s just the unfortunate state of gaming now)

@@dingorrito2779 Yes, boredom. Loved RDR1 and every other rockstar game open world game before RDR2. RDR2 just felt off for me personally. Everything took forever to do, the map was too big for its own good (I was done with tapping X/A on my controller to gallop after 10 hours), they already did the whole “The West is dying” thing with RDR1 (I preferred the West desert setting over the green East setting they went with for RDR2. RDR1 felt more like that classic spaghetti Western setting), the atrocious bounty system made playing as an outlaw not worth it since you spend all your cash on clearing your bounties (or be interrupted by annoying bounty hunters every 5 minutes if you don’t), the pseudo-realism got in the way of playing the game... All in all, for a game about outlaws, it felt too restrictive and frustrating to me. Even more so than any other past rockstar game. RDR2 sure may be the better game in a lot of ways compared to any other open world game out there currently in terms of graphics, sound design, storytelling, world building, lighting, animations, etc… but in the end, I had way more fun playing other “lesser” open world games that didn’t take themselves too seriously. I get the appeal for RDR2… I really do, I wanted to love that game so much seeing as I’ve loved every other past rockstar open world game prior to this one. People’s tastes in games change over the years… I’m sure younger me would have loved RDR2 and its more realistic approach to the open world and game in general. 28 year old me has realized that the more realism is implemented in a game, the less fun it gets. I no longer care for that much realism in my games anymore… I just want to have fun.

That's why I'm not buying it till I see some more trailers of it. Games like these where they show some parts but not the gameplay, I just don't preorder it, I'll just rather wait a few days, see some newsfeed and if the game is really good I'll get it, instead of washing money and find out it's horrible or just similar to 3 and 4. 3 was good but 4 was trash. Yeah in past games the driving was (almost) too good. You could fly around corners at nearly full speed. Personally, I loved it, even if there was no reason to drive in SR4. Seems like they tried to fix it and over corrected. Hopefully it's better than the skating rink driving we had in Cyberpunk 2077 at launch.

Early this year, before any game play footage was shown this Reboot got so much negative criticism....people saying they wasn't gonna buy it, it's not the same Saint's, the protagonist Saint leader looks too "Woke or Hipster-Ish". But once we got to see some gameplay footage, the people realized this new direction isn't bad. With a vast amount of customizations, a huge exploration map, probably new in game music track list, & numerous ways to ear.respect, property owning & earn money. We got less than a 6 weeks left until we.see.if.this live up to its legacy. ❤✌❤✌❤✌❤💯

I’m not excited for this game, I’ve always grown up playing both Saints row and GTA series and I have to say this game looks like they’ve put a lot into it and the map is huge compared to other saints row games. And honestly I think once people play this game they’ll realize how much went into it. It’s gonna be bada$$ they’re doing it all at the right timing as well, because Rockstar hasn’t gave us a new game in 10 years. People that are exhausted of waiting around are also gonna check this game so needless to say this game is be a success. I’m gonna get it on day one saints row has always been different in a lot of ways than GTA. But it will be awesome to finally have something different new and refreshing as far as open world games go.
