I think he should do a full LP. Especially since Burt is in the game. It could be like a tribute for his passing. Even though you only see him like 3 times, and can make him a Homie. Which let's be honest, homies are so useless at end game. Even if you don't take the immunity skills. It's too bad the difficulty wasn't as balanced as SR2. Even though SR2's difficulty was impossible on like 2 missions in Hardcore difficulty. But it was way more balanced than SR3. I think I will limit my damage resist skills to like 50% on Hardcore when I replay SR3 so I'm not a demigod and get real challenge. But I digress.

@@TheGravityShifter I really like your starting health and damage resistance, so, I never upgrade health, regen, or resistance. Surprisingly it handles a lot like Dark Souls at high skill play(janky, but satisfyingly so). *Especially* if you use the roll and melee weapons, then you avoid the finisher cutscene where you pose and get filled with lead, 😂🤣🤣🤣

@@thesurvivorssanctuary6561 Yeah, it is quite nice. That depends on Difficulty though. I prefer to play on Hardcore. And, while it's not SR3, but SR4, I did try to avoid maxing out on SR4, and well... it reached a point where it was literally impossible to progress. This was on Hardcore Mode, of course.

@@TheGravityShifter I love encountering challenge runners, 😁! I find that games are much more enjoyable if I just ignore or limit game breaking fluff. It kinda makes me into one of the game designers! I have a game on Saints Row IV where I never increase any of the movement powers. I haven't beat it yet, but if the impossible part is a chase or something, I got really into those hover cars(the ones that are really annoying and hard to spot and hit). If you get one you basically have a jetpack you can equip at any time by calling it up on the phone. You can do the same with tanks and UFOs, and if you're quick enough, you can exit one on fire and call up a brand new healthy one.

saints row the third is one of my all time favourite games, mostly because it gave me bonding time with my brother, my brother is sort of your typical older brother, picks on you, makes you feel like shit with the bout of niceness every now and then. he actually bought it in a bundle with all its DLC, we played it together from start to finish, so now when I play on my own...it feels really lonely. the map is actually pretty small now considering how much space there is in open world games now but you can walk in any direction and find something interesting, a garage, clothes or tatto shop or something to do for money and respect. and legit the first base you unlock after getting the starter apartment is a rooftop penthouse complete with helicopter pad and pool. its held up really well, it first started off as a GTA knockoff that then grew into its own thing, it makes fun of the whole gangstas, sex, drugs & money genre and runs with that and turns the sillieness up to a million, heck one of the collectables you have to/can find are crates of blow up sex dolls along with pallets of drugs and cash. you get a weapon later on thats litterally just a Giant dildo bat. and you can just be naked if you want, you can legit just go to a base, take off all your clothes and run around naked, and one of the story missions you do you are naked for the whole thing. the character customisation is also really nice because i you found you don't like your character or realised you forgot to edit the nose ect, there are plastic surgery clinics all over where you can go to edit your character right down to changing voice and gender whenever you'd like. the clothes options are also pretty nice too, if you explore around you can find different items at different stores, like some tattoo shops offer different tattoo options, so shoping around is actually pretty rewarding. I found one tattoo place had a neat snake tattoo for the arm and another one had a cool dragon tattoo for the other arm. so my character had a snake on one arm and a dragon on the other. and don't even get me started on the cars, the cusmonisation is insane, down to what type of paint you like to even what kind of metal finish you want on the hubcaps and decals, you can grab any car you see take it to a garage or Rim Jobs Mechanic and register it as your own and Cutstomise the hell out of it, you can grab a bus, turn it iridecent gold, give it platanuim hubcaped white walled tires and a bright purple interiror and deck it out with some Nitro and Drive it around. you can't customise flying vehicles though and that kind of sucks. oh yeah they also have a cheats menu in the phone and basically warn you not to go too crazy with it because It could cause glitches and other such cheat related issues before you use it, so its really nice. it is just balls to the walls fun with friends too, so if you can look at doing some coop sometime.

Jon, just a quick point, the national guard are, at least in the united states which saints row is based on I believe, a different branch of the US armed forces. The army is specifically for non-home soil operations while the national guard are only for operations on American soil.

I felt like this was the tipping point for the series, the point where they took things too far and wrote themselves into a corner trying to out-do themselves with all the ridiculousness. SR2 was a masrterpiece that I've played 12 times but SR3 just felt like it was trying way too hard and SR4 was actually unplayable for me. I wish the series had stayed a little more grounded, letting the players make their own wacky scenarios in a reasonably realistic world instead of handing them a big purple dildo in the first few minutes and expecting them to stay interested. SR3 made the wacky fun too easy and surface-level, it wasn't as satisfying when you're *supposed* to be doing dumb shit all the time. The fun comes from acting in defiance of an otherwise structured environment, not playing into an already silly one's norms.

I personally prefer the saints row 2. Because day night cycle.... Story is funny but serious as well. Just enough comedy and serious shit. And police fight other gangs, and saints, when they are causing carnage on thier own. And streakers and the missions weren't activitys classed as missions like saints row the third and iv. But that's my opinion anyway.

SR2 was a hell of a game with one of the best stories I've ever seen. It nails both the serious moments (e.g. the confrontation with Julius) and stupid moments (the Boss kidnapped and drugged by Mr. Sunshine), and it all works so well and actually forms a coherent package. Rarely are games able to strike such a fine balance of comedy and seriousness (Shadow Warrior comes to mind) but SR2 absolutely excelled at it. I like SR3 and SR4 as well, since The Third was the first one I played, but SR2 is better by miles than both of those.

I can understand where you're coming from, but to me Saints Row The Third was the best of the series. Balls-to-the-wall crazy, but kept the stuff that would've made a lot of the gameplay irrelevant contained in story missions (mainly, the superhero shenanigans). In these sandbox worlds where you can go on a rampage murdering a small town's worth of civilians and law enforcement, finally get gunned down after taking in enough lead to build a 1:1 statue of yourself, and then walk out of a hospital a few hours later perfectly fine and consequence free, more serious story-lines (such as GTA 4 & 5) have just gotten more and more jarring to me.

I do agree with you. SR2 knew the right balance of fun and serious. There wasn't too much or too little. It didn't increase the fun factory, but it did increase the longevity of the game. Not to mention the content is fill to the brim of activities and the replayability is wonderful.

I love SR3, but you can't deny that that game is more bare bones than SR2. The game is very fun. But when I finish everything, then what? I just do the survivals and go on a zombie genocide after I finished everything. SR2 on the other hand allows for the same fun like SR3, but there is much more to do. More activity variety, more weapon variety (I love the Katana), and if you do a 3 hit combo, your perform a special move depending on your melee choice, except for sledgehammer. You can have fighting styles, and much more. And if you have the game on PC and installed the Gentlemen of the Row mod, the wackiness just gets bigger.

I think the reason that most people forget about the aerial bombardment gizmo is because it fits in the special weapon slot, so if you're carrying it you can't use stuff like the Dubstep Gun, which is far more entertaining (albeit not as efficient).

Except the Dubstep gun is in IV, not III... But there are some fun special items that I prefer from III, like the RC controller and the Decker arm cannon.

at the end of this game theres a moral choice, set to holding out for a hero by bonnie tyler, and if you have infinite sprint and glide unlocked, theres just enough time to straight up run it to the song like a badass. thus me and my brother created 'the hero run'. and its fucking hilarious!

I love SR2 and SR3, 4 is very hit&miss, but 3 kind of lost me a little bit when I realised you could literally make yourself immune to all damage except melee at lvl50, meaning the only enemies that then posed any threat at all were the big brute guys. I'm well aware all the upgrades are optional, but to make it so you could be almost invincible seems a little out of balance.

The second weapon the game gives you is a laptop-cpntrolled satellite missile platform. Balance was never this game's intention. Another thing, the shielded SWAT are also dangerous past lvl 50 as they too do melee damage.

I love this game as well, I actually managed to find an original glitch on this one that I don't think is known yet. I always thought of this game as Saints Row's line between sanity and insanity, which was awesome
