@Dami Shirima you can buy farming simulator 15 on the online game store Steam. Also i have seen games from the franchise in stores such as Walmart. Steam is the best option as it's always in stock, they have frequent sales, and many of the new games require a Steam account for multiplayer games and additional content.

Had a Saitek Cyborg 3D gold years ago (~200€ back then), it was all cool, but one day it stopped working. A friend of mine who was more fond of electronics opened it; the wires weren't soldered, they were just glued with a hot melt glue gun. For this Saitek lost all credibility in my eyes.

Yeah, when doing a whole bunch of tweaking I noticed that as well. They had a whole bundle of wires stuck together with a cable clip and just glued them on. The mechanisms were pretty much made to fail. Pretty bad.

Yeah, the wheel looks like ass. Made of the cheapest plastic ever, no force feedback, and you want 150 bucks for it?! Fuck off. I got a Logitech Driving Force Pro for 40 Swedish Krona/Crowns, which is like 4-5 bucks, at a local second hand shop, and that has decent Force Feedback and at least seems to be built reasonably well out of decent plastic. DFPs (and Driving Force GTs) are great budget wheels and can be found for less than fifty bucks on eBay if you shop around. (I would imagine my Logitech toy wheel probable doesn't hold a candle to LGR's $600 sim racing setup though, but that's a matter of LGR wanting to spend big bucks to play precision sim racing well versus me being perfectly happy playing arcade racers on my cheap Logitech toy wheel (not into sim racing personally, arcade all the way for me))

Zombiepull Are there any decent tank simulators on the market at the moment? The only two I know of are War Thunder and World of Tanks, but neither of them are very simulator-y, and don't have the amount of functions to justify a control panel. I could see playing MechWarrior with one though.

During old days we called people, who were playing Doom and Quake without mouse and only with keyboard by name "Tractor drivers" now I know, how Doom is played by real tractor driver =)

@@tdark987 A late answer, but no, WASD wasn't "invented" yet. The default setup for Doom & Quake was: up/down arrow keys to move forward and backward, left/right arrows to *turn*, < and > keys to strafe, ctrl to fire. This was awkward and difficult to turn AND move simultaneously. Thus players were moving like a tractor in a field: straight forward, then stopping to make a turn, then forward again.

Andrey K. Ah, I see. The first version of Doom I ever played was on Windows (3.1 I believe, though it could have been 95) and had mouse support for turning left/right, but obviously not up/down. Arrow keys were forward/backward/strafe, and left mouse was fire. Indeed, I’d never heard of WASD back then; using the arrow keys like that felt perfectly fine for a game like Doom. I’m guessing the WASD scheme only came in later with games such as Quake and Half Life which required the use of additional keys to handle actions beyond just moving.

Even with power steering, that knob is really common and useful in these types of vehicles. It saves you from the constantly having to lift your hands off the steering wheel when you need to turn the wheel 2-3 times in one direction, which you have to do pretty often in some situations.
