I'm sorry but when they gave Saito the second shido it should have gone to Teddy. Saito was much more aggressive during that time period. The result may have been the same but we would have at least seen a few more exchanges.

As a Frenchman and judo competitor (black belt), I have a great deal of appreciation for Riner. But I find that in this weight category, the normal rules are counterproductive and favor the "penalty game". Saito showed great merit and fighting spirit and the fight should have gone ahead. I'm in favour of longer fights in this category.

Judo has truly turned into a disgusting art. Saito attacked 100 times but did less for 5 seconds and was penalized. Teddy doesn’t attack for a solid 2 minutes and is on the Back foot and doesn’t get a penalty. The ridiculous rule of not being allowed to duck under the arm is also still in place I see. I mean, you surely don’t want the taller opponent with that grip to actually have to fight for the grip or for that matter do something with the grip. No no no, just let the taller opponent gain the grip and then hang on the shorter one, because leg grabs? No, those are also removed and thus have nullified any proper and dangerous attacks of pushing an opponent down.
