Nah not really. They animated much less then DBZ kakarot. Sparkinh zeros story Mode is trash. Not even a voice actor to voice the things that are happening. Just goddamn Text and pictures. DBZ kakarot however has every cutscene animated with an voice actor that comments the things happening. And the story just from DBZ alone lasts 5 times longer then the whole goku story which is the longest. Sparking zero only has fighting going for it. And the ingame Animations during the fight. But thats about it. Everything else goes to DBZ kakarot.

SSB isnt even the right colour and so many of the SSJ hair models look like limp bananas When you see the detail up close on the Sparkling Zero models, you can tell this was time crunched

The engine isn't even why it looks different. Just two different teams who did separate stuff. Both are Unreal Engine but Kakarot uses UE4 and Sparking uses UE5. Those two engines can look incredibly similar

Especailly the planet destruction on Namek, looks infinitely better than the planet cutscenes in DBZK. Also the transformations, the transformations in Sparking Zero are intense, while in DBZ Kakarot (outside of cutscenes) lackluster. No camera angels or anything, just a basic charge animation. And the combat in Kakarot is actually mediocre, every enemy has over the top super armor, even when you are stronger. M1s are useless and it's literally just mashing energy waves.

This is what I feel who does better between the two games: DBZ: Kakarot: Story, Story Cutscenes Sparking: Battle, Battle VFX, Auras, Charging Auras, Mechanics, Ultimates, Online, Transformations, Playable Characters, Story POVS (like Gohan story, Goku Black story, etc.), More up to date stories (DBZ: Kakarot doesn't have Tournament of Power), Beam Clashes, Ultimate Animations, and literally everything else.

It’s kinda in the name dbz it’s meant to be focused on Z not super they may make dragon ball super kakarot but this is Z specifically and I disagree with nearly everything said against it’s just straight biased at this point sparking zero really isn’t that good a game and I’ve completed both games all achievements and it took me ages to do it for kakarot took me 26 hours for sparking zero and I have to say my time was wasted upon playing sparking zero as there is zero satisfaction

@ sparking with its level of content is no where near the level of kakarots amazing graphics you also work for your forms as well as management of that form and from what I have played on both ends kakarot is by far the more enjoyable experience not everything needs to have an online to be good look at black myth Wu Kong fabulous game it’s not got an online and pretty fun and kakarot already has a fifty hour base game story with dlc it’s longer what more do you want from a dragon ball game that solely looks at dragon ball to dragon ball Z related content

While the animations and effects for Sparking Zero are more flashy and impressive, the character art from Kakarot is definitely more loyal to the original manga/anime, especially for the OG Dragon Ball and DBZ Goku models. Sparking Zero seems to just use Super's artstyle throughout, which is why certain forms look off compared to their original counterparts from the earlier series.

If Kakarot wasn't always flying battles and had accurate charging auras (without mods) and an expanded roster....I'd say it is superior to Sparkling Zero When you ignore the huge rosters and the amazing Sparkling scenarios.... you got much more of an experience out of Kakarot

Good take. Both games have their pros and cons, but I had a far more enjoyable experience exploring Kakarots open-world, and felt it had more robust content than SZ. But damn the game certainly was plagued by those issues, particularly the constant enemy encounters. Still, easy to overlook when compared to the massive disappointment that is SZ's story mode. I personally felt like it was flavorless and half-baked.

Kakarot kills Sparking Zero when it comes to some things like character auras and how SSJ3 and SSJB look hair wise. Aura's in Sparking Zero look nice but the game focuses on being anime accurate (a little too much some times) and they just look flat on the characters while Kakarot's looks like they are actually surrounding the character.

@@Nicowncwb its because in kakarot in frieza's case its because its a cutscene and not an attack in the actual fight. in sparking zero frieza's "you must die by my hand!" ultimate is an attack in his moveset so he cant just be cut in half every time he uses that move. and even if it were a story mode cutscene i think everyone knows that sparking zero's story mode cutscenes suck so thats a good explanation

Kakarot is basically DBZ history, but with Dramatic Animations so it's striking. SZ is BT3 with a new graphic motor and Marvel What Ifs, but both are actually good as hell. Ain't sayin' that this or that are bad asf, just, these are good games on its own.
