I'd been casually watching some SF6 but this Sajam Slam pushed me over the edge into actually buying the game and it's the first non-Smash Bros fighting game I've played since SF2 on SNES. Seeing people with little to no experience with the game improve so much over a short time showed me that I can get it together and have a good time with it. It was all a ton of fun and I'm putting an hour or so into improving my AKI each night now.

Yep! I picked up SF6 after the first round robin and have been maining Manon. Shout-out to Team Brian_F since I actually watched their Slam content before the official Slam content haha.

I'm another convert into fighting games after randomly stumbling into the sajam slam. Picked up sf6 a few days ago and it is hard but very fun. Just getting in and pressing buttons has not been as daunting as I thought it would be however. Managed to fumble my cammy into gold somehow (Don't tell anyone I still only know one combo and fumble it all the time 😅).

I was a doubter. Wasn't super convinced I was going to enjoy watching the original Slam but fuck it it could be fun to watch why not. Gotta be one of the most enthralling pieces of content in the video game community in the last few years imo. The storylines of watching the players develop and seeing how everyone interacts with the coaches and how different people learn etc. has been absolutely fascinating. Not only that, finally gave me the push over the edge to start playing in my local scene. If they can, we can. Legend.

This is giving me more information to do what I'm wanting to do in regards to a Event format. I just need to do it. A long time ago I ran into Daniel Maniago (clockwurk) at a MLG Raleigh and I asked him (because he had done an event with a high school I believe) how would I go about doing an event like him. And he said just to do it. Its advice that I keep with me, but I've never acted on it. It can be hard because if your surrounded by sweaty ranked players that really don't guide new players very well it atleast brings me down for things I want to do. Watching Sajam Slam was amazing, I liked watching it more than tournaments tbh, and I've been going to tournaments for a bit (stopped tho) was at final round when the wolfkrone vs kbrad happened (was walking by) Thank you for doing this, so much it shows me that maybe my idea isn't so dumb after all.

Honestly, don't feel bad, man. Running an event is hard. There are so many moving pieces. You have created a new genre in the FGC. Top level players can now work towards being great coaches. Tekken had 2 Sajam Slam events, and street fighter deserves a second. And this time, take all the lessons from the first and apply it to the second. You have created an interest in Street Fighter with Vtubers that are hungry for the next Sajam Slam. That is success in my book.

credit to you sajam for believing in the idea and pulling it off...thrice! (and also being as inclusive, welcoming, and grassroots as possible). the slam is the best new(ish) ;p tournament series! i love watching everyone build friendships and friendly rivalries and learn to love a new game no matter what the game is. as a covid long hauler, i was really happy to see some people masking at twitchcon but that's really my main concern with in-person stuff is everyone should be masks required for covid safety. i don't want to see anyone that i have such fun watching risking their long term health (and the health of others). i would love if you would take that constructive criticism which is provided in good faith! free palestine
