I like both male characters who were in love with Suoxin, I just feel bad for Eunuch Li because, well he was a Eunuch and clearly really in love with her because he risked a lot to help her over her time as Ruyi's servant. I love Rong Pei too, but she didn't get a happy ending like Suoxin. She was so loyal she committed suicide by Ruyi when Ruyi died and I feel like the show just makes a casual comment about it which was not a good enough ending to her character in my opinion.

No it's her first love. She wanted to marry him, but she was sent away to be a tribute to Qianlong instead. ALL of her scheming has been for the glory of her clan, and for the Duke who she still loves in particular. This is the first time she has seen him in decades, since she left her maiden land (now Korea) and would likely be the only time she will ever see him again, and he reacts like this and basically ignores her. She dedicated her whole life to him and her family, and in return by the end have fully disowned her and claim she was never born as part of their clan.

So Jia, the woman who lost her baby in the purple/dark pink dress, tried to frame Ruyi, the one in the blue dress with the emperor, of being in an affair with another man and even got her lady in waiting, basically her closest maid, in trouble. It was found out that Jia was lying, and so she was being punished by having her children taken from her and was demoted from a noble consort to a noble lady. Jia is in love with the Duke of her clan, man who was leaving the palace, but was forced to be a concubine, and having heard that he was going to be punished tried to beg the emperor to spare him but the stress of everything caused her to lose her baby. Suoxin, Ruyi's lady in waiting, was tortured to admit she knew of Ruyi's affair but stayed loyal to her and didn't admit anything and left her with a long-lasting leg injury, and Ruyi encourages her to get married to leave the palace so she would no longer suffer and be free. Li Yu, the man who goes to talk to Suoxin and her husband at the end, has been in love with Suoxin for a very long time but decides to let her go and be happy outside of the palace.
