This is a tutorial on a solo impact drill which aims to develop trapping and destruction techniques for Panantukan (Filipino boxing) and Silat. The inclusion of taps, slaps, and checks on the body are designed to replicate the feeling of impact when in contact with an opponent.
1. Horizontal gunting
2. Split-entry sungob
3. Diagonal slash gunting
4. Hammer fist
5. Elbow destruction
6. Hammer fist

This is an excellent tutorial, I have been training in the Ted Wong basic concept, Bruce Lee fighting method for 40 years, two years ago I added the Inosanto skills sets, these drills are needed, drill until you do it like walking,without thought,great posts

Prince Green That's awesome sir! Ted Wong's system is the most faithful form of JKD in existence. Our Core Combat system follows the concept of Guro Dan's understanding of the JKD philosophy, and is a bit more open and eclectic. Thank you for the kind comment and thanks for subscribing!

I'm a Filipino and we don't have that Filipino Martial Arts that much in my city.I only learn taekwondo but I'm just a beginner and I can't kick that high. I really want to learn some FMA so if you don't mind learn something from you or tips without a teacher if you don't mind

Neil Alapuen Samson No problem Neil. I started off the same way as you, by learning FMA from tutorials on KZbin. When my teacher appeared, I was ready to advance quickly. Try to do as much solo practice as possible, and then find a training partner for drills.

Eric Talbot Yes, this drill is inspired by the jurus of Pentjak Silat. Whereas the jurus tend to be very specific in ingraining a certain technique or two in the practitioner's arsenal, this form is more general and suited for freeflow and shadowboxing. Thanks for commenting, take care!

I already did! And to quote the late great Bruce Lee. "Man the living creature. The creative individual. Is always more important than any established system or style." So therefore, after learning the basic fundamentals, then you put them together in a free flowing variation, then you have captured the ESSENCE of that art! In fact arts such as Kali, panatukan Muay Thai, bando, bersilat came from the Majapahit Empire. Therefore the arts in Southeast Asia are VERY similar to each other!!!

Another nice video. One thing i am trying to develope is from the Muay thai clinch get the panantukan puter kapala (head spin).
@SakanLam
@SakanLam 9 жыл бұрын
Mr. Nobody Thanks again, Mr. Nobody! The Thai clinch is a difficult place to achieve the Putar Kepala, because of the 50-50 nature of the positioning. If you happen to soften them up by landing a strong knee, or attain full head control then it's possible. Guro Ron Balicki has a good technique... after achieving an underhook + head control, knee them and step down while pulling their head down to take them off base. Should be a lot easier to achieve a head turn after that!

Sakan Lam Thank you for answering. I´ve been training traditional muay thai for about 6 months and i really want to combine it with panantukan. Do you have another advice?
@SakanLam
@SakanLam 9 жыл бұрын
Mr. Nobody That's awesome, 6 months is a solid amount of time. Keep it up and enjoy the training. Always try to have fun with it. The best advice I could give you is to think of Muay Thai, Panantukan & Silat as subsystems of Southeast Asian martial arts. Think of them all as movements that complement each other rather than separate styles. That way you can align your martial arts goals to fit your training and objectives!

Eric I really like your fighting style, and I would really love to learn as much as I can. I am 55 yrs old and martial arts have always interested me. I suffer from arthritis but watching your videos have motivated me to once again get up and give another try. I live in Chicago, and I have researched and found that there aren’t many Filipino martial arts in my area, so whatever instructions you can share with me I would greatly appreciate it. Stay safe and reply at your earliest convenience.

Reginald White I'm very happy to have sparked your interest in the Filipino Martial Arts. You can start with the Beginners Online Panantukan course that I have on KZbin. Most important thing is to get the footwork down and basic strikes. Once the opportunity arises, you'll find a good group and teacher! Good luck, sir!
