Issue: Some person made a negative comment about the fact that Bhai Sahib, like the rest of the Hazuri Singhs, is wearing a tika/tilak (the comment has since been removed due to its negative, offensive, and derogatory nature). However, this is an important matter to clarify for those who are curious. For those who don't know, all of the 10 Gurus also wore a tika/tilak on many special occasions (such as the transfer of Gurgaddi, or when visiting Sangats in other cities) and the Hazuri Singhs/Nihang Singhs, and many Mahapurush have maintained this tradition as is, and the Sewadars of the Takht apply it on events such as Gurpurbs and other special occasions. Contemporary portraits of the Gurus which are being brought out by researchers and experts are confirming this to be true as well. It is a Puratan Maryada, which has existed throughout Sikh history until the fallout of colonialism caused the tradition to gradually fade (along with many other traditions) in Punjab. There are even portraits of Maharaja Ranjit Singh Ji wearing a Tikka and there is nothing wrong about it. Those people who despise this practice, for some reason have destructive and intolerant views towards original Sikh traditions, which were accepted during the time of Guru Gobind Singh Ji by Maharaj himself. The Lord was pleased as the True Guru spoke; he was blended then with the all-knowing Primal Lord God. The Guru then blessed the Sodhi Ram Das with the ceremonial tilak mark, the insignia of the True Word of the Shabad. ||5|| (Raag Raamkali Baba Sundar - Guru Granth Sahib Ji - Ang 923) That same person, for some reason also hated the fact that the recitation by Bhai Sahib was in Hindi, despite the fact that Bhai Sahib clearly read it as-is from an old scroll documenting what was said by Guru Gobind Singh Ji himself. These people are quick to demean Gursikhs, but never do their own research before showing the world their intolerance and hatred. They make absurd statements to make real Rehatvan Gursikhs appear less Sikh. But they should first reflect on how most of Gurbani in both Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji and Dasam Granth is in fact in spoken classical "Hindi" (Braj Basha) (especially Dasam Bani). This is also why people who are fluent only in Punjabi find it easier to only understand a few parts of SGGS, such as the Shabads of Sheik Farid Ji (1173 - 1265 CE), which are in Punjabi, rather than the Shabads of the 10 Gurus which were in the vernacular or its other dialects. For Guru Gobind Singh Ji's bani especially, just read aloud Chaupai Sahib more carefully and see for yourself whether it is closer to Punjabi or Hindi. The first line should be enough to answer that! Guru Gobind Singh Ji primarily talked in the vernacular (Braj Bhasha).

Tilak is the Nishaan of a bhagat of God Anyway crying against it can happily declare themselves naastik It's funny how people don't even think twice before abusing Puratan Original Maryada of the Khalsa before even doing five minutes worth of reasearch about what it is and where it comes from I had someone once tell me that *contemporary* paintings of the Guru's which showed them wearing earrings and tilak were fakes created by the Indian government to somehow do something to Sikhs (the idea of it is laughable) Also people thinking that Punjabi should be the only Sikh language Haven't even read Gurbaani, Gurbaani is written in a uniform script (Gurmukhi) but it contains multitudes of Languages, all the Guru Darbaars;Sri Aad Darbaar,Sri Dasam Darbaar,Sri Sarabloh Darbaar have multiple languages in them, ranging from regional Punjabi dialects,to Braj, Awadhi (what people may call as 'Hindi', hindi is quite a Mordern language so people calling it Hindi because of their weird doubts on Gur Maryada don't even know this,yes these languages are similar to Hindi,but aren't Hindi) to Rajashthani and many more,Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj Sache Patshah themselves wrote about 24+ languages in their Baani,and in old times,and even now, Saroops of Sri Aad Dasam Sarabloh Guru Granth Sahibs and other Pothis of Gurbaani were written in different scripts as well,for Sangat of different areas So I don't see the basis of these weird shanke people have,do they want Sikhi to be stuck to Punjabi Sikhs, honestly it's just funny and sad at the same time about how these ideas are being propagated Khalse di Maryada naal aarhe so jhaarhe, Jaikaare Gajave Nihaal Hojaave Dhan Dhan Kalgidhar Swami Guru Gobind Singh Ji ke mana ko bhaaaaaaveeee Sat Sri Akaaaal Gurbar Akaaaal

I believe I mentioned this briefly somewhere in the video or in the description perhaps. But indeed! The city was Burhanpur in modern day Madhya Pradesh.

Whenever I watch ur videos I feel connected to Gurbani. Is there any source for sarabloh granth’s translation?
@TDTS
@TDTS 2 жыл бұрын
Thank you very much ji for your kind words, it's very encouraging! Currently the best source I believe are excerpts posted by Bhai Jvala Singh Ji on Manglacharan.com (www.manglacharan.com/blog/categories/sarbloh). I too have been working on translating one Shabad from Sri Sarbloh Granth, and I plan to hopefully release that in a video soon after my next one.

@@TDTS it would've been one of the Guru's original Hazuris right?

@@akaalilaalsingh96 Until we ask Bhai Paramveer Singh Ji himself, my guess would be as good as yours. But it does seem like it. There are so many details in there which are only found in the works of other eyewitnesses such as Bhai Sewa Das Udasi Ji. But at the same time, it's quite possible that there was some original source used as a basis to write a new expanded version written at a later point. Like the Guru Maneyo Granth Dohra, was supposedly first composed by Giani Gian Singh around 1880, unless if he himself copied it from the scroll or some other Puratan source.

@@TDTS about the Guru Maneyo Granth dohira I've heard from Singhs it was copied from older manuscripts and literature,one of them being the Gouj Pothi

That's quite interesting, I wonder if anyone has digitalized a manuscript of Gouj Pothi. I've seen some references to it. It seems like a very important source!
