The subtle differences in the sakura d5 platform between the v1 and v2 models.

@@RyanSilvaNB you shouldn’t need it! The v1 can do almost everything the v2 can do with a little drilling and get a $10 shim kit from ali lol!

I just got a D4 carbon hardly used but missing some parts, is it worth it to make road ready or buy the d5 right away and start from therw, I am new to rc drifting but have been basing 1/10 offroad for years

Unless you have easy access to new and used parts for the d4, the d5 or something more current would absolutely be the right move. You’ll be much happier starting out with a d5 imo. The d4 required some knowledge outside of the instruction manual that ended up giving poor and improperly setup cars to the masses whom were frustrated with them and ditched them for in most cases yokomos or mst’s. With proper setup a d4 can rip but the d5 will allow you to find parts / hop ups and other needed items easier plus theirs a huge following behind the d5 already so the support is there should you not have a home track to visit and gain local knowledge.

@@dvergaklam101 do yourself a big favor and stay off Ali express man, too many knock offs and clones cars. Check out Rc Mart if you’re not in the US. Depending on your location there’s lots of places to buy a quality kit.

Have you seen folks drifting the V1 vs V2 to see any performance difference?

Not really anyone locally on the v1 setup anymore. Mine is slightly different then book setup and is originally from a guy on the sakura brotherhood FB page who figured out the flip and some other changes made the functionality of the front end much better. Outside of that, setup will be needed per track so not everything is cookie cutter and go but it’s close enough

@@moonface69 kits don’t Usually have electronics. Ready to runs would. Yokomo or mst make ready to runs, otherwise you’ll have to buy a controller. Heads up though the rtr controllers are mediocre at best.

No sir, most of them are clones now. While cones can work, they hurt everyone involved. It hurts the sales of the real genuine article, that hurts the companies producing who then have less funding to invest into the next rendition. #dontsupportclones
