I can't tell you how much I enjoyed the rain. The sound of it on your umbrella, the way the rain makes the tree bark so dark, creating a lovely contrast to the blooms. The river sights and sounds were very soothing. You really captured a typical spring weather day. Your eye and love for beauty in nature is really reflected in your videos and so much appreciated. The walk along the river was my fave.

I also enjoy the meandering and pausing. Sometimes it so good to just exist and breathe. I often enjoy the bird sounds in your videos, when you are in parks and on walks outside of the city. I loved the boats in the mist and blossoms with the background of the mountains. I enjoy that sometimes the scenery reminds of places in Canada (where I live) and other times things look so completely different. Sometimes, it is our sameness that is special and sometimes it is our uniqueness. Thank you for a gorgeous walk in the rain.

Sometimes strolling in the rain is a blessing. Less people around (most hurrying to their point B). I've visited alone the last 3 trips to Japan and, like you, loved going at my own pace where I want to go. Only drawback is dining alone!

Despite the rain, your day amongst the cherry blossom trees is so beautiful. During my last visit to Japan I stayed 2 nights in Arashiyama and wondered why it was so very crowded compared to previous “day visits’ from Kyoto. It was January 15th (2020) … coming of age day. Walking everywhere over 2 full days was so much nicer. It must be nice though to walk about without “bumping into people”.

I am from Kyoto and Arashiyama is one of my favourite places to hang out at...when I want to be in a beautiful natural area, it's just a short bus ride away. That's what I love about living in Kyoto. It's a big city but nature is never too far away. I can easily spend a whole day there, tourists are truly missing out when they just go to the bamboo forest. Too bad you never made it to the Philosopher's path though, in my opinion it's the best sakura hanami spot in Kyoto. Well, next time:)

Very beautiful place even in the rain. I hope you were able to go somewhere to dry off and drink something warm. There seem to many shops to go to. I would want to try the tofu on a stick.

i wish i had explored arashiyama more, i only went to the bamboo forest.🎍 it has a different charm when raining, still very beautiful. 😌 and the umbrellas help somehow with social distancing hehe. thanks for taking us here! ❤️

Ive seen a lot people only visit bamboo forest, they missed put a lot considering arashiyama is only few minute from bamboo forest.
