I didn't notice it until a second watch but in the flashback you can see that before Choji became the leader, his eyes looked more lively, and after he takes off the guys jacket, you see notice that the glint is suddenly gone and replaced with scribbles

I actually felt bad for Togame, he alone became the darkness so that the light/sun (Choji) could keep shining without dimming. He was still there for him even if Choji's ideology became twisted. His loyalty is so 😭❤️

The anime managed to up the quality of the first arc, and having the context of the later arcs in the manga really helped me enjoy this arc better.

I think the reason why toga is mad is because that they broke the 'devotion to power' by chasing around middle school kids until the furin boys saw it and then decided to help even if it's on shishitoren turf, what toga thinks until now that the furin boys came to their turf for no reason and beat one of their guys that's why toga beat saruwatari because he lost but still wondering why kanuma and his best friend were there and doesn't seem to get involved in the fight.

I feel so good when mangas get amazing adaptation like this. Before this getting adapted I doubt barely any people knew about the manga. I checked out the manga online the other day the art looks so good! It's SOOOOOO underrated. I'm happy for the creator he must also be filled with joy. Because of the anime many people will also know about the manga now.

I guess Togame sees Choji as his "savior" for bringing him their friends and circle (basically bringing light to his world), so now he's trying to do the same for Choji until Choji can "shine" again like how he was when they first met.

Ive notice choji and togames relationship dynamic is sorta similar to izana and kakucho in that they both started out pursuing strength as a way to be free from their current circumstances but when they find something they've yerned for ( choji in his being the strongest and izana in finding a family) they soon realize its not what they were expecting (izana kinda had lost most his family when he found out he wasnt related to anyone)and that realization sorta takes them down a spiral towards a dark path. And they both have that best friend/right hand man that stays with them no matter what and tries to ease the burden for them as much as they can. I just hope togame and chojis story doesn't end up like izana and kakuchos.

Choji has fallen to the classic "Power turns you into what you hate" trope. He needs his ass handed to him, and be shown that the way to be free is not to just be strong, but to have something worth being strong for. And honestly Togame needs to do that, not Umemiya.
