@@amywilson9591 Yeah, the writer's were really good at making Trey, a heterosexual man, look like the culprit behind the relationship failing. Because the show was primarily targeted to reach a predominantly heterosexual female audience, as well as a homosexual audience, the themes tended to centralize on making its female characters look like the victims of their circumstances.

This part always makes me cry. Trey was really respectful and beautiful towards her! Even when he realised he could never really give her what she wanted, Giving her the apartment was beautiful, trust me in the real world a lot of men would of told her to pack the bags. But when he still shows up for the photo shoot even knowing they were separating just showed his respect and love towards her. Kristin Davis doesn’t get enough credit for her acting role as Charlotte. I know why, Char is like the antithesis of everything ppl stand for nowadays, and she had flaws (all though ALL FOUR of the women did). But Charlotte honestly was a breath of fresh air during her Trey to Harry arc. I know ppl hate Charlotte but honestly screw them cause they don’t know how much of a gem of a character they are missing: She was reproductively challenged even though she desperately wanted a baby, suffered a miscarriage, had a shattering divorce, etc. and yet…she still stayed positive. And she didn’t lose sight of what’s important to her. Kristin did a fabulous job with Charlotte. No one could play her like she could. Plus, I always thought she was extremely pretty. 💗
@zhabtema2 жыл бұрын
I do enjoy Kristin Davis' acting. That said, yes I can admit Charlotte was my third least favorite of the characters. But I can tell you, at least from my perspective, that it was not rooted in the idea of what she "stood for" (I assume that to be a Park Avenue Princess with pearls permanently attached to her clavicle and a deep fantasy for romance). Sarcasm aside, there is genuinely nothing with that. The major problem I had with Charlotte was that she was deeply judgmental and the least open-minded of the four. Like because what she valued and appreciated was traditional, everything that deviates from that was apparently deserving of shame. Add on to that she was one of the women most prone to running out of the restaurant in a huff when conversation gets uncomfortable; like come on man, they're in their 30s and 40s that's not cool or mature behavior. THAT SAID, WHAT I DID REALLY LOVE about Charlotte's character is that her particular arc, especially with all her rigid philosophy on love, required so much deconstruction in order to finally find someone who loves her, appreciates her, forces her to OPEN UP but in a way that's respectful, and get everything that she NEEDED, not necessarily what she WANTED or PLANNED. The man she married is a sweet, honest, straight-to-the-point guy who is also head over heels for her and doesn't fit nearly any of her conventional criteria in a man. Then, that same man was immediately and open to raising a family with her, through adoption and conception, in her late 30s and 40s. That same man STOOD BY HER in her infertility struggle and SHE EVEN found the strength to deal with it and EMBRACE herself to still be there for others. What I appreciate about Charlotte is that, despite everything she stood for, she ultimately got the life of her dreams in a way that was against her whole playbook and she still showed genuine love and GROWTH. Absolute respect to your comment, I promise (and capitals are for emphasis, not anger). Blessings.

He was so wrong to involve his mother. What a momma's boy he was. But I don't think Charlotte was wrong to want a baby and try to do whatever it would take to have one. But she shouldn't have put them on a list for a Mandarin baby without consulting Trey first.

He changed his mind because it shouldn't be this constant stress, and work to have a child. Also, maybe you should consult your husband before trying to adopt a Chinese baby.
@11Apr19Apr6 жыл бұрын
They wanted different things and I can understand both of them. Both wanted kids, but Charlotte was prepared to do everything without clearly communicating this. I thought her action of putting their names up for a Mandarin baby without discussing it with Trey was unreasonable, and Trey has completely unreasonable in involving his mother. While Charlotte was right in not wanting to give up her wish to become a mother, so was Trey's not wanting to keep trying. I don't think he was selfish when he said that he couldn't deal with all the effort and the pressure to have a baby, on top of his demanding job at the hospital. You can say that Charlotte was the one injecting herself with the hormones, but going through IVF, and other fertility treatments may suck the life out of any marriage, no matter how much love there is.

I was so happy Trey did this for her but there's something sad about Charlotte helping to perpetuate the same lie that led her to an unhappy marriage. Little girls in their mothers pearls looking at this impossible standard.

Gentleman. We should take a leaf out of Treys book. In this situation, you don’t act petty or nasty. You step up, do the decent thing, even if it’s a shit of a situation

sad when you know it's over...trey was a decent guy but they just wanted different things.

This was always my favorite episode of the series. How protective Anthony was to Charlotte and Trey joining at the last minute! All made the best of a sad end.

This relationship was an epitome of how looking good on paper and checking all the boxes doesn't make the dream come true. I was heartbreaking

Trey was a good man... sometimes...it just doesn't work out b/c you want different things in life...but at that time...that was your person... Trey honored that. Guys....that shit is RARE! NEVER take what they did for granted.

Trey is a sea lover who married with an art consultant. Also he was a sea lover in How I Met Your Mother and he was looking for an art consultant (Lily). I think it is a nice coincidence.

Anthony’s heart to heart with her was just excellent. Yes eventually he said “now get your butt out there” but he said some truly sweet things that a good friend needed to tell her. Also the blonde guy was funny with his comment about “I love this China”, just so desperate to please.

People need to understand that charlotte never deserved trey, she cheated on him with a gardener she was only after his money, I don’t understand why people are calling her wonderful, trey’s sperm were fine it was her who had reproductive issues yet she blamed it all on trey and got the apartment and an engagement ring in a divorce and the most disgusting thing she did was she still lives in the apartment she got in a settlement with trey with her CURRENT HUSBAND HARRY!!!!

How Anthony cheered Charlotte was so awesome and real, she is a catch and can make a man better like she did with Harry.

A guy who doesn't want kids sounds like the perfect guy to me. It's sad when that is the reason why couples break up. They can't agree or compromise on that decision.

It's even more twisted having in mind that Charlotte almost ceirtanly can't get pregnant
@reikun8610 ай бұрын
@@natasha3787 Then she did get pregnant without any pressure because she and Harry stopped trying after they adopted Lily.
