Welcome to the team Lorelai! I really appreciated the pauses between each section, it gave my brain a moment to process and mentally prepare for the next section. Also, I enjoyed listening to Alex singing the names at the end. "Pan-fried Lifejacket Awareness" made me laugh, and for me, the singing is way more engaging and interesting to listen to than someone just reading a list of names aloud. 🩷🌸

@littledreamerrem7021 Жыл бұрын
@DiGi It is a heartwarming game that blossomed from a post on 4chan of all places, though. A visual novel being created by anons is one thing, but a VN about disabled girls that both presents their conditions with dignity and doesn't objectify women at all? That is 100% not something that should have come from 4chan, but here we are.

I'm completely convinced that the Hitogata humanoids are based on a digital crosswalk sign. They've been around for decades. They have them on both railroad & street crossings, & there are ones that pan back & forth between a standing stick figure man & a walking stick figure man side-by-side. The simplest & most boring answer is the most likely one.

I watched the Densha Otoko drama a long time ago and really enjoyed it. As with most eastern entertainment, it was very melodramatic. But it was a feel-good story about a guy coming out of his shell and finding love. It was also interesting because his story inspired the other users on the thread to improve their lives. I would recommend it to people who like romance stories, but want one with a different flavour from the usual.

I’m not even fully shocked about the Nevada-Tan thing anymore. Sadly people having fondness for killers is sadly all to common weather it’s people not grasping the severity of what just happened because it didn’t happen to them personally and their only knowledge of it comes from the media or those who are convinced “if the killer is conventionally attractive or cute that means they didn’t do it or didn’t mean to cause cute people don’t do bad things”. It’s why freakin Dahmer and Bundy have fans. Even female serial killers get this kind of treatment and it’s disgusting and awful

23:08 This photo has been used in many Nevada-tan videos, but the girl in this photo is probably not Nevada-tan. 23:13 I think this group photo and the one in Weekly Friday are the only photos that show real Nevada. By the way, it is said that this group photo was not taken from a school yearbook, but was taken at an event held in their area. And although it's not a big deal, it wasn't during class that Nevada-tan committed the crime, but during school lunch.

A slight Japanese correction: "Kawaii Kusasette" should more properly be "Kawaiku Sasete." It's the "ku" form of "kawaii" (which drops the second i) + "sasete" meaning "to make/allow." Thus, "make (me) cute." I confirmed this via Google searching before posting this comment, as I didn't want to correct you only for my correction to be incorrect. ;) Also, interesting to hear Train Man originated as a 2chan thread! I had no idea. I never read the book or manga, but I did watch the movie... and didn't much like it, TBH. The acting was over-the-top, and the message of the movie seemed to be twisted a bit, basically turning into, "if you're an otaku guy, the only way to get a conventionally attractive girlfriend is to change your looks, behavior, and interests as she demands." Which is a pretty rotten message that seems, fortunately, very different from the message of the original 2chan thread! Sad to see such a wholesome story get corrupted like that, but I guess that does echo the whole "nerds need to become less nerdy if they want to get dates" attitude that was so prevalent throughout the '80s and '90s in the U.S.

8:10 "Ahenobarbus" is a roman name, the reason why this image is often reffered to as "Ahenobarbus Henocied" is because of a facebook account that went under that name and had the image as it's pfp during 2015, the account would post a variety of creepy images and nonsensical text. this would, of course, lead to a variety of people assuming Aheno was a hacker from the deep web or some form of Satanist, it's popularity would peak when the famous hispanic youtuber DrossRotzank would make a video on the topic garnering 5,6M views. Ahenobarbus eventually would be revealed to be merely a group of edgy memers who were just doing this for fun and nothing else
