Fantastic! Especially loved that lucid moment of a Salamander recollecting the cruelty towards Xenos they have perpetrated. In my opinion this is one of the best examples of Space Marine Satire. Salamanders sound so epic and good natured with a genetic instinct for protecting those weaker than themselves. But at the same time, when their defense becomes offense, they have committed serious war crimes against aliens who often just wanted to be left alone.

The last words of the alien captain of a Diasporex ship were literally “all we wanted was to be left alone” before the Emperor’s Children and Iron Hands killed him and all aboard their ships before they could flee Imperial space. Vulkan himself murdered a captured Aeldari child with a freaking Flamethrower. Doesn’t get any more brutal than that.
