The thing that is telling here, what makes him a true Lamenter, is when he talks about the Mortificators. He is not angry at them because they were superstitous and despised the Lamenter Chapter. That he can take and move on from. He despises them because they left the people of Corillia alone. The Lamenters were reduced horribly in number but if the Mortificators had stayed and helped protect the civilians, he would have been fine with that. But the people suffered and this he cannot forgive. Before the Badab war, a Space Hulk with a psychic madness aura of great scale approached a hive world. It already caused scores of deaths, murders, and other horrors, it had to be stopped if the world were to survive at all. However, no ships could approach without risking themselves, even Astartes were affected, and so they could only do long range shots. Except the Lamenters went in. And I mean they went IN. They flew into (space scale) close quarters to bombard the thing with all they had while *simultaneously* they sent boarding parties in there to blow up anything important. The Lamenters were still affected and hurt by the aura but, likely because their existence of misery and constant tragedy, they did as they do and powered through it. Eventually the Space Hulk got pulled in the Warp again, with the planet damaged but saved. And then the Inquisition was angry at them because they *didn't do enough*. Was it such a surprise that they stood with the Astral Claws, one of the few chapters that stood proud with them and did not shit on the Lamenters like everyone else?
@naritahhamu1192 Жыл бұрын
I'm new to the Lore and it feels like the Inquisition does more harm then good and 90% of the problems of the Emperium is that they treat each other and their people like shit.
@kingskelett6265 Жыл бұрын
@@naritahhamu1192 I‘d say it is about 45-55% percent of their problems, which is still a lot. As for the Inquisition: the problem is that there are a lot of them with almost absolute power. Don’t get me wrong, there are good inquisitors. There are bad/harsh inquisitiors that have condemned hab blocks, hive worlds, regiments or sometimes armies, even whole worlds to death. The thing is that often times this is an outcome that is less bad as a whole than other options. The inquisition has prevented a lot of bad things from happening or from becoming even worse. On the other hand, there is a whole load of examples where they did not make it better or even made it worse. The biggest problem is that that applies to almost any faction in the Imperium.

There are untold factions and ideals competing for their vision of what is the best thing to do to fulfil their mandate. They all have their pros and cons, and their members try their best to protect humanity knowing the myriad threats assailing them from within and without.

It took me sometime to realize something. This Astarte. This Apothecary. This Human. This simple man. If he indeed survives. If he survives to the return of Gulliman. If he survives to the reinforcing of his chapter. If he survives to the return of his chapter and his return to it. He fought for humanity and kept his own humanity. He fought on CORILLA and lost so many brothers. He fought in Badab War. He fought in the penitent crusade. He fought the Tyranids. He fought in so many others so forgotten. He remembers them all and mourns the those lost. Finally he lost the fight. The fight for his chapter. The fight for the Imperium. NOT the fight for humanity itself. He fights for humanity not as a soldier, a warrior, a crusader but as an apothecary. He aides the people by helping as a simple man who mourns. A simple man that he may be so, that doesn't matter. What does matter is that he is a good man. One that still holds on to his humanity. One that still Laments Sorry lost my point. If he fight on Corilla and lets say he's narrating at the start of 42nd millennium, then he's means he's over three thousand years old, possibly three and half or even older. That makes him to oldest astarte not in a dreadnought. He's older than Dante chapter master of the Blood Angels. His experience and knowledge would be extremely valuable to the Lord Commanders and the adeptus astartes as a whole.

A 2,000+ year old space marine lamenter continuing his life of self sacrifice. The thought of such a noble warrior baking bread for the impoverished, knowing that what they fight for is true and pure yet failing. Finally becoming a renegade for the sake of the imperium. For those we cherish, we die in glory.

I always appreciate how the Lamenters actually dare i say "human", to hear the pain of losing souls and wanting to protect every last person like the Salamanders. Above all they're one of the chapters i just want to hug since it always goes wrong. Great video as always!

For someone who has played the Lamenters for over 15 years. I approve this video. May the duties of the Lamenters inspire hope and passion for the Imperium of man.

My life has been hard. Setback after setback, losses I'm never gonna be able to recover from. But I've pressed on and chiseled out a life for myself from the ashes. The desperate struggles of 40k resonate with me, but none more than the lamenters. You encapsulated their struggle beautifully.

The Lamenters live. This poor deathwatch lamenter doesn’t know that we got primaris support. I hope someone eventually tells him.

The lamenters are the perfect example of giving your best to everyone around you while life keeps giving you its worst.

Salamanders may be the ones I like most, but these true Sons of the Angel are my second choice to fight beside. For in both chapters' hearts they keep a love for humanity so many Astartes abandon. For those we cherish, we die in Glory!

Powerful. The narrator is very different from other Astartes in the finest way possible. Such humanity in his cadence. What a wonderful reading.

A retired space marine. Now I've heard everything. I was gonna say he broke the service ending in death rule, but then I realized, he's still serving. And lamenting.

They were indeed cursed… cursed with an unwavering kindness and bravery that was lacking in many astartes even with impossible odds against them. For those they cherished they died in glory.

The pain in the voice. "I was a lamenter, once" hurts me the most.

What's so great about this story is you don't even need to know Warhammer 40k to enjoy it it increases the level of enjoyment but if you.listened to this without knowing anything about Warhammer 40k the story would still be emotional and gripping. It's that damn good of a video.

The chapter with a bleeding heart. My favorate chapter for its love and care in such a hopeless world that only wishes to see its marines suffer.
