I'm happy you also showed the prices, I can't tell you how many people I've tried to help getting a programming job, just to quit or only do the bare minimum amount of effort because they're not making R20k+ instantly, a lot of people in SA see stats from the US and believes it directly applies to them here... In my first year and a half of full stack web dev, I made R5k a month. A co-worker of mine saw my skill and enthusiasm and got me a job at a different company, who offered me the salary I wanted to have when I decided to go into programming in the first place. After that I helped 4 people to get a job, 3 quit after they didn't get as much as they wanted (or as much as I made) from the get-go and 1 didn't feel they got paid enough and worked barely 1 hour a week and got fired, basically ruining their reputation as a programmer. Set your expectations right Also another tip as an educator (my part-time)... Don't stop learning x language because it pays less than y language, finish x language first, get a job in it, then learn y language and then get a job in it. On the end of the day, if you spend 3+ years learning different languages because one pays less than the others and you constantly switch from one language to the next, that is 3+ years you lose that you could've racked up exp and gotten a decent salary. If you then get a job in language y, then you'd already have 3+ years exp and an expected minimum pay that goes along with it, so you won't have to start from the bottom And as a final tip, don't waste your money on getting certificates if doing web development with JavaScript, from my experience freeCodeCamp + KZbin and/or a connection in the industry is all you need these days, I see too many people spending hours and *a lot* of money on paid courses

Small Mistake I have picked up on the Backend, Frontend and Fullstack slide 2-4 Backend = R35 000 2-4 Fullstack = R32 000 2-4 Frontend = R27 000 I apologise for the mistake as it may be misleading, the graph is correct but the table is wrong.

Great video!! As always I always knew that backend developers on average tend to get paid more than front-end developers but when I soon discovered that a backend dev makes more than a full stack also, I was kinda surprised by watching an interview with Faang employees My first reaction was kinda a bummer because logically by default I would think that full-stack devs would get paid more. After all, they are full-stack which makes them valuable, but after learning about those 3 types of roles it made sense. Internationally worldwide Backend developers are paid more than both front-end and full-stack on average it's just 5% to 17% more, But that alone, because some are just different in a weird way that alone doesn't mean you must now break up with your wife, sell your house, quit your job to transition to the backend, quit learning FE. You now think it's a waste of time because you will make peanuts compared to the backend dev, let me clarify some misconceptions. A front end with more experience can make more than a backend with less experience working in a smaller company same story with full-stack, money should not be the reason to want to work In a certain role because you may regret that, And lastly, In my opinion there are plenty of opportunities to make more money as a front-end or full-stack outside of a job or starting your own thing I can't speak much about the backend but I would assume it's also possible can't see why not, I have seen a handful of independent full-stack devs internationally and here locally in ZA that is making tens of millions per year from their products and services, those who want money I highly Recommended upskilling themselves and chasing problems within the tech industry not money if it's a million-dollar problem you will make millions if it's a billion-dollar problem you will make billions... Or add value

Check online for the requirements, I went to varsity around 2013 so the requirements might have changed now. Back then you needed Maths to do a Bsc degree I don’t know if its still the same now or not.

@Ptmjeager7 ай бұрын
@@LehlohonoloMohale-bh2hd i'm 21 I got similar marks to you but didn;t do accounting though however, I'm redoing matric to add maths , because outside of the requirements for credible varsity placements, the skills, mental process given to you thanks to having a decent/strong background in maths is crucial, it's not only about how good you are at maths , in tech some careers, it is required that you have sharp critical analytical thinking skills which will be sharpened far more by core maths vs math lit. companies won't care obviously about if you had math lit or core math, but they may care where you got your qaulification from , i.e a UCT graduate with a decent portfolio could get a job far quicker than a VC graduate with a decent portfolio , key focus is on portfolio though. But which company you go to could be affected by where you studied, and that ofc is affected by your matric. Goodluck
