What confuses me is? Which 1 is which? Certificate route or degree/diploma?
@silindiledlomo6050 Жыл бұрын
@@prudencemolaba2685. Having a degree, diploma, or formal education makes it simpler for employers to recruit you because you have an official qualification. While certificates are useful, you also need to be able to demonstrate your abilities through projects if you want to go that route. As you can see in the video, most people have both, therefore having both is advantageous.
@liferesetwithboni Жыл бұрын
@prudencemolaba2685 If I'm from high school., I would do a degree , and there are a lot of life skills that you will learn from doing your degree, and it will help you in the long run. If you have the means to do a degree, do not go for shortcuts. After your degree or during your last year , you can add your certifications. Big SA corporates like degrees, but smaller companies focus more on skills, so if you have your certifications, you won't struggle. In summary, it depends on where you are in life and the available means.

Ausi Boni you just touched on an important subject ya Tax. With the current proposed university fees' increase and a decrease in NSFAS's allocated budget from treasury, it's totally unfair that we get taxed so much for jobs the government doesn't help us find and for going to school without the government 's help. One day as the youth and the taxpayers of South Africa, we need to talk about taxes. Imagine having to part with almost 50% of your income because you're in the last tax bracket. It's unfair and it's painful because it's not like it's being used to benefit the country in any way.

Too much education is not a measure for one to earn so much in IT but the certifications and knowledge you possess plus ur current role prepares you for what you can earn in your next job. Too much education I am referring to thinking that you need masters or doctorate. BSC computer Science + certifications that goes with experience. CTO level requires ur business acumen not just IT as you head the entire department depending on what u delivery to the company u report to CIO so not many wants that route but happy being principal engineers

I@@liferesetwithboni As of my knowledge, I can provide a general overview of some countries that were known for having relatively lower income tax rates compared to South Africa. However, tax laws can change, - United Arab Emirates (UAE): The UAE, including cities like Dubai and Abu Dhabi, is known for not having a federal income tax. Singapore: Singapore has a progressive tax system with competitive rates. Hong Kong: Hong Kong imposes taxes on a territorial basis, and its tax rates are generally considered lower. Bahrain: Bahrain is known for having no personal income tax. Qatar: Qatar does not levy personal income tax on individuals. Saudi Arabia: Saudi Arabia does not impose personal income tax on earned income. Kuwait: Kuwait does not have personal income tax. Russia: Russia has a flat income tax rate, and the rate is relatively low. Paraguay: Paraguay is known for having a simple and low-income tax system
@Mogotsi_P Жыл бұрын
Living in South Africa can be financially burdensome for those in higher tax brackets. Take, for example, an individual earning a substantial income, potentially facing a tax rate of approximately 39% based on the SARS-defined brackets. The tax structure, as outlined below, is a cause for concern: Taxable Income from ZAR 782,201 to ZAR 1,656,600: ZAR 149,475 + 39% of taxable income above ZAR 782,200. This substantial tax burden emphasizes the need for a closer examination of the current tax policies and their impact on high-income individuals in South Africa. Advocacy for fair and reasonable taxation could lead to a more equitable financial environment for all taxpayers..... Personally, I would contemplate relocating from the country if confronted with such high tax rates. It might be more feasible to visit South Africa for work while being based in another country to circumvent a substantial tax liability.
@mshamba8066 Жыл бұрын
@@Mogotsi_P you say "equitable financial environment": have you looked at the data on - and overt reality of - inequities in south africa? tax avoidance in a society reeling from apertheid is as parasitic as that menace to society. your advocacy for "fair and reasonable" is fuel for gaslighting economic justice. sad.

@@mshamba8066 your point about retaining high-earning individuals is crucial for the overall economic health of a nation. It's essential for governments to strike a balance between revenue generation through taxes and creating an environment that encourages skilled professionals to stay and contribute to the country's growth. Imposing excessively high taxes may risk driving away talent and investment, which could have long-term implications for the economy. Governments should explore policies that attract and retain skilled individuals while addressing historical inequities. A thoughtful and balanced approach to taxation is vital for sustainable economic development. .

Worst assumption by a person is that they do not fit in the tech space. There are so many roles that just need business acumen. Coding forms a very small part of the IT space.
