100 percent agree on the cinematography! This movie looks amazing and has some genuinely suspenseful sequences. I think there is longer version that got cut down to get it under two hours.

I feel what made the original a masterpiece was all the suspense build. It was a much better movie because it showed the vampires one by one, not all together, like this movie. The one by one had a better impact, to me. The original also left a lot to the imagination as it progressed, like the sound of 2 car doors when Ben and Susan were at the lake at night. The buildup of seeing Barlow was another element that built the movie. No one knew what was happening for a while, just that something wasn't right. I can't see anything coming close to the original ever again.

I never watched the original movie, but it sounds like it went more for true horror and not this safer action/horror blend.

@@SoWizardPodcast Thank you for responding. It did :-) I don't know if you would like the original if you're young. You have to have been born in that time before electronics and technology to enjoy/appreciate it. I hope that makes sense?

For some reason when I started watching this movie series, it looked like it was made in the 70s with the lighting that was given off or maybe that’s just my TV. I’d rather not watch a movie back in the 70s, so I kept looking to be sure that I was seeing the year on it of 2024 correctly It just seemed so slow at the beginning almost like a 1970s movie! Did anyone else have this feeling?
