You know, you've really got to give McCartney credit for writing about the unregarded lives of lonely women who were more or less invisible at that time. Nobody cared about them. But he did. I was 13 when this song came out, still heartsick that the Beatles had broken up the year before, and immediately fell in love with the woman in this song. I still love her.
