Yeah one of my friends bought a PC from facebook in our country, and well. He called me since it didn't turn on, he kept trying to call the seller but they never responded classic scam I guess. But the only issue was that the power switch cable got torn somehow, I just striped the wire and jammed it back into the connector and secured it with electrical tape. Then the PC turned on and it worked fine. Morale of the story if they're selling it very cheap most of the time, it's broken or they're hiding a defect.

I fix things for people for free a lot. I also believe in fair/honest trades too. I'll tell someone whats wrong with something before I'll give them $50 for something worth $500. The thing I've noticed is.. The people that don't have a lot are the people that want to pay you for your time/knowledge. And you can tell they value and appreciate it.

You know, man. I wanted to get into this profession. However, if you think the tech industry is bad in America for this, it's much worse in the UK. Repair shops are pretty much limited purely to phones. As a man with equally raccoon like dexterity, capable of unbending... Crazy amounts of CPU pins for example, I wish I could do it. Just buy a prebuild from a good store that actually knows tech stuff. If something is wrong, just send the pc back. I really dont recommend buying a used AND EXPESIVE PC because the risk can be huge if you are not entirely sure what your doing (Im refdering to the offers that are non-refundable and have 0 customer support)

Your line about "poverty tends to be like that" really hits me. I'm from the same boat too. All of my friends are either middle or upper class. They always remark how weird I am with money. It's not that I don't want to spend time with them in fancy restaurants or on vacation trips, it's that I really have to make sure whatever money I make goes to savings (what little there is). Here in Korea most of computer shops always profit-focused and cheating to their customers (mainly repair cost and swapping lower grade parts), and I also do computer shops and I am doing as honest as I can. Boought one last year, was used for mining, wa hard getting drivers that worked, and also the original vbios, used in a system with an I3 1015, 16gigs of the cheapest ram in dual channel, I can play almost anything with decent performance in 1080p for people like me that because of being poor has a system made of old parts of some quality, and cheap new parts, the rx580 is gold. It will play anything without complaint, but generating massive amounts of noise and heat

I've just popped over my neighbours because they wanted a couple of bits listing on Ebay. I asked them to check how much postage is and they just don't know how to look at something online, they're the type of people who get conned on FB marketplace by shit sellers who have no soul. I repair laptops for a living and have spent literally thousands of hours over the last 20 years helping people for very little money (or none) get online with a sensible machine. I hate the con artists who sell you a 2nd gen i3 and a gt710 and tell you it's a gaming PC and I advise people to DO SOME RESEARCH before you part with your money!!!!!
