Thank you for your video. For those are unfamiliar, the technique using a lathe is known as spinning whereby sheet metal is forced to conform into the shape of a bowl. As an alternative to Copper, other metals that can be used are brass, sterling silver, stainless steel or Aluminum. @ 12:23, the coppersmith takes the copper pot to the tinsmith. The tinsmith heats the copper and adds in some flux for preparation of melting in some tin. The application of a tin coating is for food safety. Copper is reactive from contacting food or drinks. Ingestion of leached Copper can become toxic. On the other hand, Tin is less reactive to contact with foods or drinks. Similarly in olden days, pewter ware used to contain Lead which would leach out from contact with foods or drinks. Lead is poisonous. That is why modern pewter ware contains Tin instead of Lead.

EXCELLENT METAL SPINNING. For all the hobbyists out there uploading videos of their failures this is how it is done on a production line basis and I used to have 4 guys doing this day in day out. We used to do coal skuttles like this which are a similar shape but larger. For people like Kier Starmer and his predecessor Richie this is part of a hard days work. For those that dont know the forming tool is acalled a section chuck and to make one of those is a trade in itself.
