There are three things making this series special. First of all, picking such interesting interview partners who have really something to tell about beauty because they know the business. Moreover it's the intimate atmosphere and your skills as a journalist as well as your talent to make people open up. Always a delight to watch, thanks for your work!

Absolutely brilliant - couldn't have loved this more. Such a fascinating insight & different take on makeup - eagerly awaiting part 2! I can also relate to what Morag says about being less intense and bolshy the older you get. I think it's a humility that comes with maturity, and knowing yourself so deeply that actually, you don't have to fight every battle and constantly feel the need to prove yourself. You can let that drop & collaborate better than ever.

Thank you so much Sali, for this. I nearly teared up when you talked about sexism and the belittling of women working in the beauty industry because even after over a decade of being a makeup artist, it is still something I face regularly. This was a brilliant and engaging conversation I wish was twice the length! Also, I hope you could do more 'in my kit' peeks into working artists favourite products across all medias. I loved the ones you did with Mary Greenwell and Val Garland. Part 3 with Morag Ross I hope?! I love your book and what you do is incredibly important, so thank you again!

I think Morag is my favourite of all of the interviewees for I.T.B. Very interesting insight into the thought process of movie makeup, she's very candid, I love what she said about HD. Even as a theatre goer, you look and say "Why do I need to see X,Y,Z has large nose pores, it's distracting. I vote for another interview with her.

I find period make up really interesting. When you watch a lot of period dramas filmed in the 80s or 90s, often the makeup is 80s or 90s rather than the period in which the action is taking place. I really admired Downton Abbey for having the actors wearing my natural/nude makeup in the early series which would have been true to the era. Anyway - really enjoyed this. Would loved to have heard about her process for researching the period looks but I know there isn't' time for everything! Her thoughts on HD were really interesting. Fascinating industry and woman!

thank you for posting these interesting interviews. i loved it and learning about Morag and screen artistry. and sally you look smashing in your glasses and your hair is amazing!! some constructive feedback: the moving camera is very distracting. my suggestions: 1. put camera on a tripod. it can still be moved even on a tripod to get the angles you want during the interview but once it's at the angle it stays still until moved again. 2. get a second camera for a different angle and when editing use cut-aways. both cameras on tripods. it will be an even more enjoyable experience for us viewers and also be easier on videographers arms/shoulders instead of holding the camera for such a long interview. thank you for considering. much love, Anita :-)

Love this series and I'm looking forward to part two. But, I had to treat this as audio only in the end. The lack of any full face views of Morag was very frustrating as was the wobbly camera and random angle switches. Please get a better camera person, a tripod or do the interview portion sitting side by side so that at least both you and your guest are in full view to the audience.
@theodorabrown12948 жыл бұрын
+mindsketches I'm wondering if it's because of the layout of the bathroom and a compromise to actually be able to do it in the bathroom. My bathroom is laid out like this and it's quite hard to get two people in there, much less two subjects + cameraperson + equipment.

The thing I hate the most is people referring models as always being 'beautiful and having beautiful skin'. Beauty is obviously subjective. I find models to be very mediocre and oke but not beautiful (besides some). I think people on film and 'normal' people wipe the floor with those so called models. Just my opinion.
