Loved this chat so much! Great to see Sali and Kate together! (Apart from the comment on alkaline diets, which is scientifically disproven - if your body is "acidic" or "alkaline" you'd be in hospital seriously unwell with what is known as acidosis or alkalosis. The pH of the body lies in a tight range between 7.35-7.45. Food is unable to alter it.)

my dentist told me very recently that drinking water with lemon is extremely bad for the teeth. I drank water with lemon daily for about 15 years and this has seriously damaged the tooth enamel.
@JackOllie45 жыл бұрын
My lemon water habit is to just have one big glass first thing in the morning. My dentist advised me to rinse with plain water at the end. Have done this for several years now, and absolutely no problems.

Só true! If you drink (ànything with citrus!) with a (glass or steel) straw, you're ok!
@janemackrell37335 жыл бұрын
@@JackOllie4 yes, I'm sure that's ok. Unfortunately I was sipping lemon water constantly all morning.

I know people who use a straw so they don’t damage their tooth enamel. I wonder if it’s better.

There is a very good point here about irritation. With the overload of information and the fact that I’m able to afford it, my routine became complex and I was using and trying out loads of products. Despite of this, I wasn’t entirely happy with my skin, it felt dryer and dryer despite of the tone of oils I put on it - and quite frankly if your skin is dry, it looks older and stressed. It wasn’t terrible and I thought the dryness is the result of getting older. Well I went to holidays about 6 months ago and I completely forgot to put in my skincare bag. I went to buy essentials when I arrived at my destination country, but it was a basic skin kit. My skin got so much better. I am maintaining a lot more simpler routine now and it works miracle. I know this is not what brands and influencers are telling us, but I realised I don’t need half of the stuff I had before and my skin is happy. I don’t even need an oil, I just don’t think it does anything to my skin at all. I’m currently using up some of my oils that I bought earlier, but not on a daily basis. I think once I finished them, I might just buy a basic one for the sake of having something for spa days. Great interview but I also don’t agree with Kate on alcaline bodies. French and Spanish are smoking and eat tons of bread and drink loads of coffee and yet they look youthful. I think the average American does not age well because of the poor diet (GMO, sugary, processed food, soda, etc.) and lack of exercise.

Hallelujah...same. I've been sick the last couple of months and have kind of given up on skincare, and my very dry skin has never been happier. PLUS people keep asking me what I've done to make my skin look so good. Mind sharing what you use now? I've been using a couple of drops of oil in a bit of moisturizer and that's it, though I may introduce a retinol (just because I'm 46!)

Where do I start?! This really spoke to me on so many levels.eczema, women entrepreneurs, self reliance but also generosity of spirit. Of course I love all the talk about makeup and skincare but these interviews are so much more❤️

Love you Sali & loved this but wish Kate had been sat where you are so we could see her face. Just found it annoying seeing her profile. But thank you for a great interview. Xx

One of the best videos from your series and I have been watching you for years. The topic about women entrepreneurship is important and it was great to hear about Kate’s struggles with funding and family background. Very empowering and real. Very relatable! Xo

It was interesting to hear Kate’s views on the Unilever acquisition of her brand. I guess if you want to sell in other countries and formulas need to change to comply with that specific country’s laws, then you do need added help and the knowledge if a bigger brand that often does this. I hope she continues to work alongside them to make certain her products still have the same efficacy if the formulas do change.

This is a fantastic video, thank you Sali. It is interesting to see the difference between this video and the one that Kate did with Caroline Hirons. That was interesting but this one is much more informative (better, I dare say.. sorry love you Caroline, but is it a different style), I think it is thanks to your great journalistic skills, and it brings us real value! Thank you
