Recently we lost our dear friend, singer, songwriter, and producer Nolan Neal. In times of loss, it's important to honor life and the legacy he left behind.
Nolan produced and sings along with Bobby on "Breakdown" for our 2016 record "Love, Lies, and Therapy". The song is about a person who's mental health is suffering and their fight to find hope, and help, in the lowest of times.
Since the pandemic, the addiction and mental health crisis has hit an all time high. So many people in the music community are in need of mental health care and our support. True story -- way back in 1995 I was the first dude in LA to hear this band's very first ep cassette. I was co-producing a program called GRAMMY Showcase which showcased new, unsigned bands. They ended up being a finalist out of over 6000 demo submissions. It's how we did the new band thing in the mid 90s before the internet or youtube. I'm happy to see the band continues on. To Nolan Neal: Miss you man. It was awesome to see how much you've accomplished the past few years. I grew to be very proud to know you, and shared your music with everyone I could. When we met, I could tell there was something electric about you. You had that charisma and stage presence that people only dream of as artists. You were REAL. Sharing your personal story of losing your dad, and overcoming addiction literally saved my life. You touched my soul with your masterpiece lyrics. You, my friend, will go down in history as one of the greatest singer song writers of all time. "Heartbroken" doesn't even begin to describe it.
