Sally is a fascinating person in her own right. Her thoughts re: Ben are, of course, singularly insightful. She rarely gets the separate attention she deserves. Bradlee was obviously an interesting character. I've really enjoyed these longer interviews in connection with the HBO documentary focused in Ben.

Was anyone else startled/dismayed by the juxtaposition of her telling the story of how she broke up the marriage of a man with six children and then calling Nixon such an immoral man in the next breath. Such an astonishing lapse of self-awareness!

I hope I’m remembered with equally rose tinted spectacles. :-)

Sally has always been fascinating to me. I remember the summer before I started 5th grade the frequent promotion for the new CBS Morning News which was coming soon. It was the first really new thing on morning television in memory. After a few days my local CBS affiliate abruptly discontinued without explanation the network programming and extended its “Morning Show” with a new hostess, Ann Varnum, who stayed on until well into the 21st century. I always agreed with her viewpoints, except she was critical of the Clintons. Of course she is entitled to her views and I respect her views, but it was notable because I had always agreed with her.

I’m always shocked when women go after married men; and that married man had 6 kids.

The man had many affairs with his first two wives. Doesn't that surprise you?
@allisonbordessa3824 Жыл бұрын
@@joannebille6848 NOPE! What surprises me is that women know the kind of married man they're dealing with and somehow think he will behave differently with them. NOT. Whats that old saying about leopards and spots?

Wait.... It's married men, 95% of the time, that start an affair... But you are coming down on women? 😢

Please reconsider your double standards for women.

I'd be very interested in reading her columns from Style if they are available.

Just watched Ben Bradlee life story, although she has been accused of breaking up his marrige, it takes two to Tango. Bradlee was married at least 3 times, so lets not be quick to blame the woman. Journalists have the same morals as an alley cat. Most of tham, except Bob Woodward. and John Dean.

Wasn't he married to Mary Meyers sister?

What about Ben Bradleys other children

She shamelessly pursued this married man. She was only a Style Section writer and not that impressed but wanted to become a Georgetown Madame.
