My review of Heeramandi Heeramandi has its good and bads. The actors' performances were really good, especially Manisha, though I ain't convinced that the heroin(not sure about her name) was the right choice. I would have liked to see someone like Aishwarya or Madhuri's talent & face in that role. I believe that character needed a very pretty face. Mr Bhansali could have taken his time to find the right girl to do that role. The other big disappointment was the music. I was expecting something that would match the magic of Devdas's music, but it didn't, ordinary songs and compositions. Climax I'm not sure why Mr Bhansali needed to take the last part of the Heeramandi indulge into a freedom fight especially when heeramandi isn't based on true story.. He could have kept the story within the culture of heeramandi and then go for climax with a different idea and much better result. SETS Though I must mention that the sets and costumes were simply outstanding. Seems there was a care for small details and money was spent generously Asmat khan( Urdu Poet and writer) London.

Bhandali sir give chance to Soha Ali Khan- she still has to show her talent if directed correctly. Tushaar Kapoor could be given another chance. Aakhshe Khanna, Nutans granddaughter ( forgot her name); give others a chance also. Not Sonakhshi, or Deepika or Alia. Others deserve a chance to be directed under your guidance. Hello Mr Bhansali Your directorial ventures are extraordinary. Its a treat to watch your movies. The sets, cinematography, screen play, costumes, dialogues, acting of individuals as the character in the movies are extraordinary. Directors like you are born once in a millennium. The only mistake in your life you did was judging reality shows where you were not true to yourself. My advise to you is don't appear on any reality shows you will dilute your image. Make movies on medical profession and stock market. I would like to meet you regarding these 2 projects.

He is known as a perfectionist ...each and every frame is heeramandi was exquisite , from set, lighting , costume, jewellery, acting , dialogue delivery , dance and nakhra ....however how come his masterful eye couldn't see beyond his love for his neice that she is a miscast for this role .....firstly alam is a 16 to 17 year old as per script , introvert , romantic , innocent and pure and no where shermin fits the bill ....how much use of lighting and make up and costume u take ...shermin looks very old ...close to 30, mature , she has that arrogant , vixen vibe about her ...and that role requires a girl who looks cute , innocent , virginal ....I think aditi, sanjida , alia bhat , tejaswini prakash, the girl who played waheeda daughter , the girl who played younger manisha ...all are suited ....and above all shermin can't ACT...she had two note expression for every scene ....dead set catatonic wooden expressions....smirking in dramatic scenes....shedding a tear from one eyes ....she is what bring the show down ....I am going yo watch heeramandi again and will fast forward all her scenes ...apart from her and taha ...all other characters were fabulous
