If Syeds in India and Pakistan were truly Syeds, they would have the same paternal line (Y chromosomal haplogroup). These genetic studies of the Y-chromosome in Syeds of South Asia reveal that they are very diverse and not different from the surrounding population.

The word "Syed" which has been misused so much in Pakistan means the actual descendent of Prophet Muhammad SAW. You have to be outta your mind to really believe that. None of them ever came to India, even if a couple of comrades with bloodline of our beloved Prophet SAW were to make it to India in the command of Mohammed bin Qasim, numbers would be so little that wouldn't even make 100s to this date and also reducing the percentage of the ethnicity over decades obv. Lets not forget we fortunately reverted to Islam cuz of this certain event and the arabs who married and have children with our women, most likely took them back. Somehow he’s right, a lot of it started from 1947s migration as pir ali mohammad rashdi describes in his book “uhhay deehn uhhay sheehn”. People from sindh have always loved and respected Syed’s after migration when people saw Syed’s getting “khums” from non Syed’s and special treatment they started calling themselve Syed’s too. According to my study there are only four families in sindh who are proper syed, the families with an Arabic shajra from umaiyad period and Persian shajra from abbasid with “nass”.

Problem is that people, specially us will exploit whatever sells. Be it religious, political or ethical connections or any form of authority they have due to their education, training or heritages. بس کریں کون سید ہے کون نہیں ہے ۔۔کون لوہار ہے کون خان ہے ۔ان بحثوں سے باہر آجائیں۔۔۔ پاکستان سے باہر ہم سب ایک تیسرے درجے کے مللک کے شہری ہیں ۔کوئی سید بنے چیمہ بنے یا چوہدری بنے یا کچھ اور۔۔ باہر آتے ہی ڈرائیور بننے میں بھی غنیمت سمجھتے ہیں۔مطلب ڈرائیور ہویا ڈاکٹر سب قابل عزت ہیں اور کوئی کچھ بھی ہو انسانیت نہیں تو کچھ بھی نہیں۔۔۔ اس لئے کھوج لگانا کمینگی ہے ۔اوقات کردار کی ہے ۔۔۔ باقی تو یوں تو سید بھی ہو مرزا بھی ہو افغان بھی ہو تم سبھی کچھ ہو بتاو کہ مسلمان بھی ہو ؟؟؟ 😢 یہ بحثیں ہمیں لے ڈوبی ہیں

اس طرح کی بحثیں انتہائی فضول ہیں۔ قبر میں منکر نکیر نے یہ نہیں پوچھنا کہ سید ہو یا صدیقی یا بٹ ہو یا چویدری یا جتوئی ۔ زات پات کا فرق ہی تو مٹانے کے لئے اسلام آیا۔
