Weir was built in 96 , your spot on they wrecked the weir, the old weir was falling down but could be fixed ,it should have being fixed , your spot on they fuked up the river , your spot on about the dace as well, someone had to say it , WELL DONE.

Same up near Ballyclogh weir the pulled it down and the water dropped and the deep was fucked. Same with the wash the built a bridge across it and fucked that up. They put up a fish counter that does not work always full of crap. The powers that be have fucked up our rivers. Cutting down trees leaving less cover for the salmon and spraying poisons' along the river bank to kill the hoghweed its a criminal ...

On the ball kid, destroyed the old black bridge by back of the University aswell to build all those appartments. When I cycled into college 25 years ago, you'd see 30 salmon jump while cycling from one side of the bridge to the other. Now sadly nothing. I saw so many fish 10 lbs plus pulled out of that spot by the black bridge years ago and pulled a few lovely spring salmon myself. I wouldn't waste my time up there now sadly

Fact Padraig they destroyed that river. Fluoride in the river turns salmon away from the river and I can be sure with all the apartments theres plenty of fluoride flowing into the river. Not to mention the nets at sea and the mouth of the Shannon. The IFI are a bunch of fxxking dossiers.
