No the grass does not feel like water and does not load the rod like water, it is just VERY slightly related to the feeling of the water. it IS however possible to practice on grass for a beginner.

Hi MrKveite, thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed this video and found it thought provoking, it was designed to aid people with casting practice while travelling to water bodies isn't an option. While casting on grass isn't the same obviously, with the use of grass leaders it's very close. Thanks and tight loops,Noel.

Yes , I totally agree, that's why we recommend making a grass leader and using Rio spey swivels for the best possible replication of the water experience on grass, Noel.

Where do you put the swivel? Can you use a swivel for a spinning rod?

How long do you make the leader?

Hi Richard, in this video we used ,twenty pieces of 30lbs mono, 8 inches each, making our leader just a touch under 10 feet which works really well for us . Thanks for the question.
