Probably got unhooked during the fight, flew out the mouth during a twisting jump, and the exit just happened to direct towards the back re hooking itself. It happens….

i've seen a lot of fish roll and get the body twisted in the line which pulls the hook out of the mouth and it digs in somewhere else as the line winds around the fish
