I don’t soak long anymore. In fact, I like when it catches on fire toward the end of the cooking process as it adds extra smoke flavour. But I do recommend having a water spray bottle on hand just in case.

It depends where your asking about. If lower mainland (vancouver area), October is the best month of the year for Salmon fishing. It’s also a fantastic month for Van Island rivers as well.

@@aln6242 duh of course, my bad. To be honest, I’ve never fished the Campbell in October as there are other rivers in hitting at that time. Chinook will be wrapping up then and Coho picking up but i don’t know the strengths of those runs. As for waders, you don’t need them in that small strip of water. But in October it would be cold! The rocks are super slippery too! That all said, I would recommend waders but they aren’t necessary to fish as accessibility is very easy.

Yes you need waders. From my experience anyways
