THE VLOG WRITE UP 📄
Here we go again, another Salomon running shoe test and review here in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. Always a good time to lace up the Salomons for a little uphill test. Excited to see how these Salomon Speedcross 4 running shoes compare to the Salomon Alpine running shoes. You will notice before the run, and even during the run, that the number one feature for these running shoes is the grip and traction on the sole. The "lugs" on the bottom are the most aggressive running shoe lugs I've ever seen in person, and that I have ever used in any running environment. Overall, I like the lugs on the sole of these Salomon Speedcross 4 running shoes, but I'm not sure how applicable the lugs will be outside of really difficult alpine running environments. Even the run today on Mount Morrison, which is a steep uphill 2,000 vertical foot climb to the summit, was not really horrible enough ground conditions to warrant the size of lugs that you find on the Salomon Speedcross 4 shoes. I could see these running shoes being very good in nasty scree fields on the 14ers here in Colorado, or perhaps in the mud after a spring snow. I bet runners in the upper northwest use these shoes for the muddy and wet running conditions they experience in the Cascade mountain range. Overall, I'm satisfied with the Salomon Speedcross 4 running shoes. Perhaps the only draw back is that the running shoes are a little stiff. Despite that, I'm very satisfied with these running shoes and I cannot wait to try them out in some real Colorado mud. What Salomon running shoes should I test and review next KZbin community?

Seth, you have definitely bumped it up a few notches since the beginning of the year with your running vlogs in particular. #Stupendous I don't think they could get any better without a second camera person. My favorite shot this time was the close-up "traction" shot near the beginning of the ascent and how you showed the shoe lugs doings their job, but the shots weaving up the trails were expertly crafted too. #Gritty Perfect showcase for the shoes and the terrain they handle so well. Also, your new branding/labeling on your thumbnails #GreatIdea

Thanks Dave for noticing the uptick, and hopefully others will too. I'm excited! That's good to know what your favorite shot was, I think my favorite shot sequence was coming back down the mountain at about 3:45, hard to choose though. And you're right, it's getting a little tricky filming solo on the runs. Worth the sacrifice hauling the camera up there....next is to haul up in my backpack you know what!

@@SethJamesDeMoor Thanks Seth! Yeah it's a great vid! I subscribed to your channel and just watched the Pegasus/Speedcross run up mount Bierstadt. It's awesome! I ran x-country and track back in my high school days but have been trying to get back into it, and these videos are inspiring me (which is helping inspire Megan) to get out there and run! Thanks for the great vlog! I love the varying camera angles, the fly-overs and the slow mo as you're stomping through mud/grit/you name it! It would be awesome to run together some time (when I'm back in shape) I love trail running- doing a mtn like Bierstadt would be superb!

I'm on my 3rd pair of these. Love them for off trail running and steep hill repeats. A little stiff for groomed trails. It is on the heavy side but what a tank these are, so durable its crazy.
