First, a glowing review of the video itself. Great narration and choreography. Very entertaining. On to the grinder itself. I tend to agree the salt grinder is a bit of overkill for an individuals use, but man, does it look and work great!!! 🙂 I see it having more value if you do large quantity cooking, i.e. parties or restaurants possibly. Last, the price just kills me. Would love to buy the set but can't justify the price. I can think of too many other toys I would rather buy for that money.

If the Cannon is so good, then why do they only offer a one year warranty? :|

One year is pretty standard for most things, I find. Honestly, I expect an archeologist will find my salt and pepper cannons in full working order, many thousands of years after I'm gone! They are that well built.

@arlo.guthrie Most stuff I buy now has three years or more. My 3060 is three years, my Makita LXT tools three, my Bosch appliances in some case five, and my LG TV has three as well. Seems like most manufacturers started to come round to this bad rep they've been getting for making stuff that doesn't last like it used to. This is in the UK though so mileage may vary warranty wise for anyone else reading this. I feel if a company has faith that their products are good then at least 24 month's warranty should apply.

They also don’t offer any replacement part, so be careful 🫠

I've got a pepper cannon and it's fabulous. I'd like an excuse to buy salt cannon....but for me it answers a question that nobody asked. Next to the stove I have a large salt pig which I fill with cheapo coarse French sea salt that I buy by the 10kg bag. For the table....I want flaky texture and buy tubs of fleur de sel or Mardon equivalent. Freshly ground salt does nothing for me. Whereas the smell of freshly ground pepper..... If anyone from Mannkitchen reads this....work on making great some quality tongs that grip super firmly....big enough to turn over a whole chicken or leg of lamb without the damn thing slipping....like obstetrical forceps, lol.

After a few month's use now, I think the main benefit of the salt cannon (other than making a pair to the pepper cannon), is to reduce salt intake. I've got it set on super, super, super fine, and it's stopping me over-salting things, which I often did with the Maldon.

Salt grinders are useless as is. Making one that costs $200 is about as stupid as you can get. I am not ignorant when I say this. In fact, I currently own a Pepper Cannon that I payed for with my own money. I believe it was worth every penny. The Salt Cannon though? Let's make a comparison. Why would you want to grind pepper? A better question is why wouldn't you want to grind pepper? Pre-cracked pepper out of a bottle is horrible. By the time you get it, all of the fresh and fruity notes that are very pleasant to taste are long gone and all you have left is sour spiciness. Cracked pepper is worth it's weight in gold compared to the stuff out of a bottle. Now, what do you get when you grind salt? Do you get flavors that would be otherwise not be present in a "pre-ground" salt? No. You just get smaller salt. I mean seriously, do you think it's worth it to spend $200 on a salt grinder and more money for large salt crystals just so you turn them into essentially kosher salt that you could've bought in a box for $10? Now to MANNKITCHEN's credit, they say on their website that it is pointless, and that the only reason they made it is because people wanted it that bad. I want to make it very clear that I am not mad or annoyed at them. They are a business setting out to make a profit, and if they think they can do that by making unnecessarily expensive salt grinders, then more power to them. No, I am mad at the people that wanted to turn their big salt into small salt so bad that they were willing to pay $200 for it. To sum up my whole post: If you bought a salt cannon, lol L Bozo get rekt loser

Fair point about grinding pepper. But I like the salt cannon for two reasons. First, it goes with the Pepper Cannon like Punch and Judy, or Starsky and Hutch, or Ben and Jerry. Second, actually I DO like salt to be ground as finely as possible (and the Salt Cannon really does grind very fine), because my theory is that you get more saltyness from less salt, the finer it is ground. I dunno if that is actually true, BTW!

I havent even watched the video yet and i already know a "salt cannon" is useless. Just use your hands in the kitchen and a shaker on the table

Cooking often leave your hands wet or damp after wiping down, hence dipping fingers into a salt jar, which I usually do, is not ideal. A good salt mill will fix that. The Peugeot I have leaves too much waste when put down and it's slow.
