I came back to say thank you for this recipe, I made this to my baby with no sugar and I used coconut oil, turns out to be good. I also used this recipe for a healthy oats bun I just add 1/4 cup powdered rolled oats i used coconut oil also and I didnt add any sugar. This is so good. Im trying to introduce my baby a healthy snack instead of buying in a grocery store.

Last week I had said that I will try your recipe and share my experience. So here I am. This evening I tried your recipe to make those lovely looking salt crackers. I very carefully followed each step. The whole process was easy enough thanks to your clear and instructive video. Yet, I kept feeling something was wrong....couldn’t put my finger on what it was. The dough was mixed and rested for an hour and it had risen beautifully. And then it hit me while trying to roll the dough into a disc. It was not all purpose flour that I was working with, but rice flour. It had struck me that it was very white from mixing stage itself, but I put it down possibly to the baking powder and soda...it wasn’t elastic enough but that also didn’t register. When it eventually it did I was pretty surprised - shocked really - as my kitchen is very well organised and I believe and follow the simple principle of “everything has a place; and everything in its place”. Then I realised that four days ago our nice and helpful maid Mamatha asked me if she can refill the jars of rice flour and maida from the packets and I had said ok. I didn’t have to check as she is well trained and pretty organised herself. She knows both containers well. And they have labels too....for some reason she must have been distracted. As I had added yeast and the other leavening agents I didn’t feel the difference in texture to begin with. I really should have.....lesson here for me. Check everything myself. Anyway I had a pretty difficult time rolling it out but out of sheer cussedness to see what happens I rolled, poked holes, dabbed oil emulsion and baked one batch of crackers. They came out pretty well....like mini rice papads🙄🙄 So my ((mis)adventure with salt biscuits continues. I will try again after recovering from today’s episode. 😀

I baked it in airfryer and i must say its quite succeed. The point is preheated for a while, 10 mins or so, and rolled the dough quite flat for the crispy texture

I’ve made this and it was definitely very yummy! My only challenge was having to roll the dough thin enough and then actually transferring it onto my baking tray without tearing or misshaping it. That was hard. Then I thought maybe I can make it thicker and it would be easier to handle. It was easier but then it was slightly chewy when done baking. I think next time I would roll out one huge piece of dough and use a pizza cutter to cut squares rather. And then I might try and bake it slightly lower but for longer so that I can make them a bit thicker but crispy. Otherwise, very easy and very yummy!

I’ll have to try this. I’ve tried 3 or 4 different cracker recipes and can’t get it right. They turn out hard but not with that crisp snap. And I roll them as thin as possible. BTW, the title says no butter, but you show you add either oil or butter. I think I’ll try the butter. 😊

@jaminwaite38674 жыл бұрын
There are no preservatives like there are in the saltines from the store. This a much healthier option. I’m sure making crackers once a month especially if you’re quarantining shouldn’t be a problem.
