My first dive there was in 1977 while getting certified with PADI. The kelp beds were 20 feet tall and once in them you could not see too far. The instructor did not warn us about the seals that would zoom in and brush against you! Scared the heck out of me! Beautiful dive location, however, the entry and exit can get rough depending on tidal action. Great video!

Thanks! Yeah those kelp beds can get thick in the summer!! i have been scuba diving here as well. Such a beautiful dive location. one thing that I dont notice as much when free diving vs scuba...once you get out past the kelp beds that current is wicked! and you are right, getting in and out with scuba gear on is tough! glad you enjoyed the video.

did you have fun getting in ? I did this last nov 2020 and we got our asses kicked from the surge, waves, but it was pretty cool.

oh yeah, it can be "sporty" when its surging good. free diving isn't too bad but i have scuba dove here as well and getting in and out of the surge with gear....well yes I got my butt kicked too. lol.

@@slobert1970 yeah man it was pretty epic. If you dive next to the big stairs that bring you down, avoid it. It's dangerous. It was a fun dive however. It is definitely for advanced divers if you are going to shore dive. But the help is beautiful, I miss that place. Another reason why diving in the pnw is world class hands down.

i heard there was a ship reck out there. also heard about tanks and under water bunkers?

there is a wreck called the diamond knott. withe the currents and depth it is not a shore dive, need a live boat. dint know about tanks but there are bunkers but not underwater. its a beautiful place to visit
