Hope the rest of your trip is going well! Happy trails !

Hey Bob! Of corse. That was a good visit. Yes, we were headed to Kitty Hawk, but the weather started moving in so we decided to pass and go to Myrtle Beach. Then Matthew rolled in and kicked us out of St. Augustine. We're in Miami now and enjoying FL. Key West this weekend. Are you guys back in Toronto? Good to hear from you.

Well we went to our festival in North Adams Massachusetts and proceeded to the outer banks for our second festival in Manteo . We camped out at Kitty Hawk . Nice area. We drove through the remanence of hurricane Julia which was down to a tropical depression. That was quite an experience driving with both sides of the road flooded. We are back home now ten hours north of Toronto small town called Kapuskasing. We had a lovely trip. We sure enjoyed bumping into you. Your adventures has got my head going with all kinds of traveling ideas. Thank you for enlightening us with your travels and experiences and hope to meet you all on the road again some day. Place 2 large towels on your kitchen table 90 degrees to each other, take all that food out of the freezer, put them in the center of the towels. Then fold the ends of the towels over the frozen food. Then defrost that freezer with a hair dryer and you should put a towel inside the freezer to absorb the water. That will remove all that freezer ice off in just 2 or 3 minutes. Dry it out all the water completely and put the food back in. It takes just a few minutes. You don't have to turn your frig' off, it is that fast. You got a hair dryer I hope, it's the fastest and safest way to defrost any freezer. Cheers
@KeepYourDaydream8 жыл бұрын
Awesome! Will do that for sure! Thx. And for watching to the end :)

Keep Your Daydream I use to repair AC and Refrgeration systems. What I described is so fast and easy nobody in an RV should let that get to bad. Your welcome. Not only did I watched to the end but I played backgammon while the preceding ad played out in another tab. I don't always do that but for some reason it was a 5 minute music video in a language I don't speak. I did so because I know it helps you more tham skipping the ad (when I can) I let the ad play through. When it was over I stopped playing and watched your video because I could hear that. Just my way of supporting channels I follow when the ad is not annoying. Personally I think you guy have a fuller plate with your kids then I could deal with but your both rocking with it from what you show. Best wishes to your whole family.

PS! If you know your going to do laundry very soon, that is a great time to defrost because you just wash up the towels right after . Cheers.

How does your dog stay cool in the RV? Looking to RV in the future and haven't figured out how to keep our pup safe and cool while we're out adventuring.
@KeepYourDaydream8 жыл бұрын
We've been fortunate that we're chasing 72 degrees around the states. Currently in Michigan and about to head to Montreal and Maine, so it hasn't been an issue. But we've found that the RV stays much cooler than a car. When we do leave her... we leave the roof vents open with a window to create a breeze and it has been surprising cool. When we have a place with hook-ups, we leave the AC on, but Maddie doesn't bark (sleeps all day) so that works too.

It was in the low 70's in Utah so we didn't need to... and the trailer stays cool due to little to no sunlight coming through the window, but yes, normally we're hooked-up and leave the AC on for her. Otherwise, we just take her with us.

First off how much driving did Tricia do? Highway, city a combination of both? How long is your TT and truck? Because I can't get my wife to drive for anything. My truck is 22ft and the trailer is another 36ft and she wont do it. It would be so nice to split the task, but I wont lie I may be a nervous wreck sitting shotgun.

Thanks for the comment. I have bad news for you... we're in Michigan now and Tricia has been driving ever since this video! Because I work remotely... the passenger seat is my new office. Five videos into this road trip vlog series and i keep forgetting maddie exists. is she in trailer when you're driving?
@KeepYourDaydream8 жыл бұрын
It's a fair point, sometimes we forget Maddie exists too. We'll arrive at our destination... get the trailer setup and an hour later say, "MADDIE!". Come to the truck and she's still sleeping. She lays under the bench in the truck and sleeps all day. She loves being with us and at 16 years old, doesn't need much - just attention. You'll noticed, where there is water there is Maddie. No water, no Maddie :) When you get to Rushmore, don't feel bad that she didn't get out of the truck. It was arthritis, she just likes to play a game of not getting out. She's been doing it for years. -Marc

Thanks for comments Shaun. Lots of assumptions though! I haven't stopped working since we left. I've been self-employed (with private insurance) for over 10 years and worked hard to create a business where I can work from anywhere - 3 businesses actually. We shared the same philosophy as you in regards to waiting 'till we retire to travel... until we realized too many people (maybe even most) never make it. Things change. People get sick. Dreams stay "someday". So instead of waiting for the perfect dream "someday"... we took this trip *now*. Check out www.KeepYourDaydream.com to hear stories of people who also managed work and travel simultaneously. Maybe more questions will be answered in our Q&A video...
