Mt. Rushmore was great and we’re back on the move! Headed to Minnesota to meet up with long time friends Kelly & Tim Marshall. We heard that Wall Drug was a “must stop” and the 45 signs made it difficult not to stop… but you’ll have to watch to see what we really think.
We also gave Ginger a must needed bath and got a lesson in patience…

Fun episode. When learning to travel with an RV the learning curve can be frustrating. Then all the little details become automatic and everyone is more relaxed. KYD does a great job of showing this. It is fun to watch it all evolve.

LOL I'm an addict to your channel. This is one of the realest, most-relatable videos you've ever made. I like grumpy, edgy, no-filter Marc commentary. On EVERY SINGLE trip we take as a family, there's always a guy spraying water on his car moment. You can bitch and piss and whine, or just laugh and make it into a colloquial/caricature representation of the trip.

Been following y’all’s vlog for over 2 years now, doing a little catch up of the ones I missed. This has got to be one of the funniest episodes y’all have. Between Marc and the tape, the kids arguing and the dude at the wash, I laughed till I cried. Hilarious.

A mixed bag episode, between fun and frustration. Travel days are stressful. When we hit the road again, the plan is to limit daily travel time to four hours, and not travel every day. When one is retired, there should be no rush to get anywhere. Thanks for taking us along. Happy Trails

I've watched many, many of your videos love them all. Having recently become an owner of a travel trailer, with a wife and twin daughters, I've learned alot through your vids. I just recently watched one though that I hadn't seen before, of your escapades across South Dakota. It was really entertaining to watch and hear about your stay in Watertown, SD, as we lived there for almost seven years. I hope that the wind, Wal-Mart, and the heat don't discourage you from visiting again. While we've moved to Sioux Falls area now, we still miss Watertown. Happy and safe travels.

Love your videos, I hope to spend lot of time on the road in my old travel trailer. You folks are a great resource and an inspiration. Word to the wise though, coming from someone who has repaired water damage on many RVs. NEVER use high pressure to wash an RV, the seal on the corners, roof and windows is far too delicate for that type of treatment. Scrub it clean with soft towels and mild soap, then rinse with water gently flowing from a hose, or thrown from a bucket.

The car wash reminds me of when we were in Montana and the GPS told me to take this road ,but the road became a dirt road and Their was nothing but farm land on this dirt road for 15 miles. I went thru a couple mud holes. Well I thought they were mud hole. I think every cow I saw which was a lot had taken care of their business in those holes. The hole front of my trailer was brown with cow XXXX. That was a fun time at the car wash. We still talk about that one.

Another great video! I like the fact the kids are willing to get on camera. And speaking of the kids, you commented about the fighting and arguments in the back row. I don't know if this would help or not, but try switching around and having the best behaved kid ride up front for a while. That, of course, means one of you will have to ride in the back seat, but it might reduce the arguing.

Yes, good point. I have found the evenings to very slow, but early morning to be much faster. I think most of the hotel is using the internet or streaming video and in the morning is an open pipe. In fact, I was at the hotel for a couple hours and called it quits at midnight. Went back over at 6 am and it took only another 20 min or so.

Wow! Good video! The kids are fabulous! And, your friends place is awesome! It makes me want to visit the northern portions of the U.S. which I've avoided . . . basically because, there is no ocean there! LOL Little Tip: Easily wipe the dead bugs off your RV by spraying it with household furniture wax then just use your broom or washing brush and brush them away. It keeps their little corpses from really getting a hold! Ick and LOL Enjoy your journey and Be Brave! :)

My daughters and I found Wall Drugs to be a delightful excursion into kitsch in a way that is uniquely American. Ditto for the nearby Corn Palace. My wife, on the proverbial other hand, was tired of both after about 10 minutes. We have been to Mt. Rushmore to camp several times and it is a fascinating place to go. We intend to spend a few days there next time so we can do some of the hikes.

I remember when I was in high school back in the 1970s, my Uncle wanted to visit all the major national parks. So each summer he would throw my cousins and my brother and I in the back of the Chevy van. We started on the top of the country and worked our way down. We did this for 5 summers. Naturally we had to stop at Wall Drugs. It's a lot bigger now than it was back then. Plus the parks were not as crowded. Nice to see a family tradition continued.

One thing, make physical copies of your trip. Make a scrap book, don't count on youtube being here 20 or 30 years from now. My cousins and I still talk about our trips 40 years later. And still argue over the Chevy van throwing a timing chain in Cody WY or Jackson WY. We had to camp out in the Chevy dealers parking lot until the Chevy was fixed.

Super fun video, I had a total giggle-fest with Tricia as you were being Mr. Fail at measuring the RV * points and rolls around cackling * I loved watching you guys wash the RV...Tricia, you do an admirable Bouncing Bun maneuver! :D It was interesting to hear your report of the difficulties of the trip. I certainly do understand why it would be the kids...after all, as Tricia pointed out in so many words, "How would you like to be stuck sitting next to your brothers and/or sisters for WEEKS." Um...no. * thinks back to when I was a kid *... ...my parents took my 3 brothers and me up to our summer cabin every weekend of every summer from when I was a baby until I was about 18 yrs old. I cannot count the number of times my dad would actually be forced to pull off the freeway so us kids could take turns getting spanked for being monstrous and not knocking it off. No matter if it was just one of us, we'd all suffer because everyone always pointed fingers at the others! And mind you, it was 1.5 hrs each way and invariably there would be fighting at some point. Thankfully the corporal punishment was rare but you know, I sympathize with parents...kids have no idea what danger they are putting everyone in when they are causing a ruckus. So, I feel for all of you, and I really do get what it's like to have to deal with those "STUPID BROTHERS/SISTERS" :D BEEN THERE! I seriously don't know how I'd deal with my "idiot brothers" for SIX MONTHS, esp when you know, * putting myself in your kid's shoes " all of us are idiot kids/teenagers and have crazy hormones rushing through our veins and we don't even know life really is! I mean, they're still growing and their brains aren't even fully developed! And wow...kids and parents...there are so many times that nobody gets along! * cringe * * boggles at you two * HOW DO YOU DO IT?!!! AHHHHHHHH!!! Parents really are remarkable. Anyway, keep up the great videos, and if I happen to find that moron at OUR self-serve car wash, I'll sick Steve on him...that guy will be OUTA THERE!! :D

Not to rain in on your parade however it is probably not a good idea to use vehicle detergent on a fibreglass RV as it has to mush ammonia in it that will fade and dull down the fibreglass. Go to an RV shop or marine shop and get RV detergent much better in the long run. By the way I loved the bunny hop.lol.

I'll agree that was overkill in that wash bay for sure. However, as far as your comment about him not scrubbing or wiping it down with the scrub brush, you actually DON'T WANT TO DO THAT. First and foremost, it can and WILL very easily scratch your rig/vehicle BIG TIME. It's not a matter of going slow and taking your time and you'll be fine...no... You WILL scratch it for sure. People use those (obviously) to scrub down very muddy/dirty things and the brushes don't get cleaned out nearly sufficient enough to allow anyone to be able to wipe down their rig or vehicles without"installing" tons and tons of scratches in your beautiful paint. I'm not a pro or "expert" on detailing, but just a hobbyist or enthusiast you could say. There is an insane amount of super important info on this topic you can find on KZbin, so explore it when you have an opportunity. But the general rule is to not touch the paint at all if possible. And if you must, use a CLEAN soft microfiber towel. Protip : when you do get new microfiber towels, tear off the tag immediately (just before you use it really...), Because the tag can actually scratch the surface as well. 👍😁 Enjoying your content, thanks for sharing.

Yeah, we've been getting comments like this all across N. America. 6 months wasn't enough time for SN 1, but now coming up on 2 years...we've come to realize we'll never see it all and do the best we can.

In bed sick with an upper respiratory infection and have been binge-watching session 1 from you channel. Do you realize episode 8 is last in the auto-play list? Would be nice if you could change the list order, but not a big enough deal to go through to much hassle. 💗 u guys.

No joke! This sprayed water on his car for ever! We would have got in the other bay, but being 53 feet long it's hard to move around quickly.

Is your truck a f 150 ? Platinum ? What motor do you have in your truck?
@KeepYourDaydream

Yes, platinum with 6.2L. Pulls Ginger great, but sags a little too much. Just installed helper springs, but not sure I like yet. Might switch to air. We'll see.

I got the "free" water from the spigot in the middle of the drug store and then ran as fast as I could out of there! Not for me at all. I couldn't resist the hundreds of signs telling us to go there.

OMG... I should have kept track and included that info! The card was swiped and the button was getting pushed by the kids so many times, I lost track. My wife said about $20. I recall Caleb hitting the button (after we were done) because he heard it beeping... but we were solving fighting that already broke out in the truck. :)

I'm still nominating you two for World's best parents. Your kids are actively involved in their education, surprisingly confident, have good grammar and diction, and they seem to be well behaved. There's nothing like confidence and good speaking skills to further them in whatever career they decide to follow. I expect at least one of them will become a newscaster or TV or new-media personality!
