Watching this brings back so much memories of my childhood with my Grandmother making this same dish. Also, my Grandmother use to get lots of coconut from the farm. And we spent all day gratering coconuts to make our own coconut oil. We didn't have a gas stove, so we were in a little kitchen with our wood fire just like Ras/Mokko....Good old days!....But I didn't know it then!!

I love to hear this so much Angela! I can't wait to do the organic coconut oil episode next time I'm in Jamaica. bless
@angelareid81048 жыл бұрын
+Ras Kitchen : Yea, next time you're in Jamaica you should make sure you do it. It taste completely different from the one we buy. My Grandmother also used it on our skin and hair. And now people are paying so much money organic coconut oil for the same purposes. So, my Grandmother knew the benefits of it all along. Also, there's a custard that forms over the oil from the coconut. You can use it to eat with roast breadfruit and cook it with callaloo. So, I hope you get a chance to make/try it. I think you will love it.

Roast breadfruit is my fav, can't wait to try it! I'm definitely one of those people that buy the organic coconut oil.......I use it as moisturizer all the time. Same results without all the chemicals! Plus it smells so good ;)
