A better finish than epoxy would be to solder the chain into the hole in the copper maybe? Nice project tho

I'm at my desk actually facepalming myself, because of COURSE, why didn't we think of that?! You're right! a solder would have been better, it wouldn't just be a chemical bond like epoxy but an actual physical bond...

Salt Make City just think it would fit in better with the classy desk art look and could be polished up nicely

That's just it I think in every aspect I think you'd be right. I only worry about the heat dis-coloring the chain or copper however, we will give it a shot! Thanks again!

@@SaltMakeCity I think you may the right choice with the epoxy using a steel chain as solder will not adhere to steel. Great video as always! Might just make a number of them as gifts... Gran kids would love them! Al

There should be a magnets store. "Magnets R Us". This should definitely be in it.

Ryan Burningham lol, thanks. I’ve got a bunch of ideas for magnetic sculptures. Maybe one day, magnets r us will be a reality

Thanks we can’t wait to show you what we have planned!

In theory, how big could you make this sculpture?
@SaltMakeCity4 жыл бұрын
Ryan Burningham depends on the strength of the magnet and the weight of the chain. I pulled the entire spool of this same weight of chain right across my entire kitchen, about 10 feet. We are thinking about doing this with a larger magnet and actual hardware store chains just to see what the limits are here.

nice..I wonder why you don't anneal the copper so it is softer to bend..

We a working on a way to make the happen! Stay tuned!

The process you used to get your flange is called peening
@SaltMakeCity4 жыл бұрын
Daniel Adkin exactly the big difference and the thing we hadn't thought about was going with a super light weight tool rather than a peening hammer! Thanks for the comment.

With this quality of video u guys would get easily 10k subs in a day. But u choosed to shove it up people face now it's been a month and you only get 50 subs and less than 2k views. I guess you guys deserve it.

Los Santos City, honestly we were confused when we saw your comment. We weren't sure where it was coming from. We are just getting going, and we're just figuring this out. It took us some time to figure out what you were talking about. We had looked at some ways to promote our new channel and hadn't realized what we had put in motion. Thanks for bringing it to our attention.
