If your self-defense will be primarily based on kinetic projectiles, anything below 30J is simply too weak to stop a hardened criminal, possibly on drugs, who will stop at nothing to harm you. The police use 50-60 J launchers; that says it all.

It entered her eye and fragmented in her brain. FN303 was rated at 31 joules, this can be googled

That's a nice in-depth review. I ordered one a week ago and cannot wait for them to ship mine. This reminds me of the Mercury Rise MUB 50's big brother, which has the same magazine and tool to insert into the top to release a stuck ball. Looks like a very solidly built marker.

The S2 on my nightstand for home defense, the Byrna holstered on my hip for EDC. The S2 is still too large for concealed carry, especially with the protruding piercing valve. In fact, my dream EDC less-lethal would be a more compact Byrna with all the Byrna features with a hopped up .50 cal round.

I bought the New Sabre .68 out of curiosity.. it's nice but the fluorescent yellow is very bright. It's similar to pepperball/first strike launcher but cheaper built and lighter. I disseminated it and dyed it black, looks great !!!

For the price and for a first time buyer for "Non Lethal" fire arm. I agree this would be a good choice. But If you have the money, I like the Grimburg Gavle, Now that's Power! I was really impressed with one of their videos where it penetrated a coconut 🥥😮, I like the fact that Grimburg advertises it as "Less Lethal" which in my personal opinion that thing will put your lights out.

My TR50 powered with just CO2 blows right through 1/2" planks. But too big for an edc. I will def be purchasing TWO SS2's for me n wifey. I mean it stays consistent at 20js. Pierces perfect and the trigger is sweet. I've always loved my Glock's sights. The reliability is really what matters but even though I have others I got to do it! Grimburg Gavle boasts 36 rather than the 20 of yours. Check it out. It penetrated galvanized trash cans, is more compact & lighter for CC. Berna, similar to yours, bounces off many targets. Not the Gavle. Check it out. I haven’t seen any that compare power-wise.

I’m well aware of the Gavel. It’s also $500 and they are working out major issues. There’s no quick pierce as of yet. In 2025 Grimburg will release the Solstice. With all problems fixed. Quick pierce, magnetic detents, and 44 joules. I’d recommend waiting till then for that

I did several other videos after this on my channel where I tested several projectiles with a chronograph and gave the joules. It is 20joules with the proper round projectile out of the box. And in this video I broke down the different prices. It is basically $229 for the marker alone

The Grinburg Gavel is definitely more powerful. But also $499. They had some issues with it. But Grimburg has sorted them out. The New Grimburg is set to come out in 2025. That is the Solstice. It will have a push button co2 activation and magnetic detents

It is true. But the issue with Byrna right now is their reliability and integrity to their customers. Many people are getting launchers from Byrna that are failing and not functioning as advertised. That being said it’s causing a false sense of security for many people who are carrying them out there. Reliability is very important. So far the two most reliable consistent markers with adequate power are a Modified UmarexHdp50 and the Salt Supply S2. a smaller launcher can be more beneficial because you are more likely to carry it all the time. The old saying a .22 in your pocket is better than a .45 in your gun safe. But also as we learn more. We can also dress for the occasion. There are ways to wear clothes that will enhance CCW. Another option everyone over looks is The Kimber PepperBlaster. It’s amazing and devastating to get hit with

Hey, thanks for the vid you sold me on the S2. Just ordered the MACE version. Thank you for your videos that are always very informational and without bias! Any recommendations on what rounds to buy? I want it as a home defense gun 10-18ft max so would you recommend heavy kinetics or tear gas pepper spray balls? Or both scattered in the same mag? If so what brand? (My kit will bring 6 mace pepper/tear gas, 6 kinetic and 6 practice rounds.) I would like to buy practice rounds as-well for my girlfriend and I to kid a get a feel for the launcher, any recommendations? Amazon has a bunch and don’t really want to put one in the launcher that doesn’t fit right. Thanks and keep up the good work!!!

I did a couple of mor videos on the chemical rounds I use. And the best kinetics thus far For my load I load 6 rounds. It a five round mag. So I put one in the chamber then reload 5 rounds into the mag For kinetics I use Grimburg Jul V3 For chemical I use Duke 10% CS tear gas And Duke Extreme OC I stager: JulV3, CS, OC, JulV3, CS, OC.

would love it if salt supply would send me the S2 for investigative purposes !!!. i would love to spend weeks ,taking it completely apart and putting it through my special , upgrades and what nots !!! ... i must admit 20 joules out the box is impressive , considering the umarex HDP's and HDR.68 top off at 38 to 43 joules with spending around 100 bucks , i feel 229 dollars put in the hdp or hdr , especially the ones i take completely apart and file,finish, fit and polish each part just like real firearm gunsmiths do for certain higher priced firearms before they are sold to the open market !!! . couple of years ago , i wrote just about all the less lethal companies but salt supply and "burn" nah and told them about making a .68 cal marker in the shape of popular real handguns like the colt 1911 , the GLOCKS for sure , beretta 92 or M9 , maybe the sig p320 or M17 or p226 , etc. and so on . even the people in itally took my advice , but i must admit , this salt supply S2 is the closest thing to what i was thinking . you know the only people to even respond to me back were mercury rise and guard dog security out of all the companies ,shame on you UMAREX , i spent months perfecting your hdp's and hdr's . i have written a lot about airguns and less lethal etc. in the last 13/14 years on youtube , i have seen many things i wrote about come to market , but the many things too great to share are just written down on notes in my many books , waiting to be the next big thing , so no more freebies greedy companies !!!!... i learned years ago finally to stop giving the greedy companies ideas and keep my big fat mouth shut till i could get in on some of the profits myself ! .... style , affordability , performance , upgrade-ability , are just a few things that matters the most ,but in all reality , effectiveness and reliability are the two most important aspects of LTL !!!! i hope one day to get in with the right people not companies to bring my awesome tech to the world , but for now , all we have is what we have !!!! ..... i really enjoyed the video and presentation brother , you are really becoming someone in the LTL community !!!! thank you for all you do !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
