"There is no network. My getting brigaded to keep me out of the industry is proof that people don't band together to control access to the industry." Just because people don't wear black cloaks and meet in underground boardrooms lit by candles and sconces doesn't mean there's not an email chain or database about people who are unpersoned.

He kinda reminds me of the scorpion and the frog crossing the river story. No one wants to work with him because everyone knows Joe Glass gonna Joe Glass. Why take a chance with him, also knowing he can not write.

No, Joe, it's not at all surprising. Idk where he spent his childhood; but in my neighborhood, no one liked people who couldn't be trusted. 🤷🏾♀️

It can't apply to Joe because the scorpion rode on the frog's back and he's almost certainly a bottom

Yes, and there's also a song: "The Lady and the Snake," sung brilliantly by an actress in the old TV series, "Northern Exposure." It's an eerily prophetic metaphor for "allies" and "comrades".

Sadly, Joe Glass wasn't paying attention during the power struggles among girls in junior high and high school. Unless you are actually running the Cool Kids Table, you can always be dropped from the Cool Kids Table. (If you are running the Cool Kids, you are always subject to backstabbing by someone who wants to run the Cool Kids, and who has minions with ambition, or is able to recruit people from under you.) Being someone who isn't running things, and who isn't a direct minion of the person running things, means that you will almost certainly be jettisoned sometime soon, unless you have money or power in the background. Joe Glass does not have those things, so they got rid of him. Softly, instead of loudly. They just stopped inviting him to parties, and they're always leaving when he gets to the table; and eventually he's supposed to figure it out. But I guess Glass didn't.

I find it funny he didn't consider that the very network he was a part of has pushed him out. He just immediately goes back to playing the game he is used to: blaming the same people over and over. It’s kind of wild to watch it happen.

I recently read an issue of She-Hulk from 92 where Byrne ran out of the duo tone paper halfway through, and actually put a note on the page to apologize for the rest of the book looking different. I found it funny and relatable.

To Mr. Glass's tweet, no, it isn't surprising - its tragic. It is tragic that he is incapable of understanding that participating in pogroms does not exempt you from being the target of that or another pogrom. It is easy to throw out a tool you don't like after it has served its purpose. In the event he reads this comment, allow me to clarify - Joe, you were a tool used to remove people from an industry and now that your users have achieved their goal they no longer need you around, so you were tossed out. Congratulations on the harvest from the field you helped sow.

Seeing those old ‘90s Jim Lee X-Men comics has me wondering: What issue was it where they said something about Bishop actually being Filipino? I definitely remember reading some comic on the bus, (I think it was around when first appeared) and it may have been in the letters page, and reading some bit where they said he was Filipino. I wasn’t in on the ground floor with Bishop, and I always assumed he was black, and he was black by the time I read said issue in the mid ‘90s, so I was pretty surprised to read he was originally Filipino...even if it made the hair make sense. I’ve tried finding that information, but the only thing I can find is a years later interview with Whilce Portacio about it. But that years later interview makes it sound like the decision to make him black instead of Filipino happened before he appeared in the comic, where the thing I read around when he first appeared made it sound like he was Filipino in the comic at that moment.

I haven't backed your campaign because the description seems nebulous. Is it a comic book story set in the 90s with a kid experiencing these comics? Is it like an GI Joe Order of Battle with one page summaries of each of the comics shown? I haven't read hip hop family so saying it's going to be like that does nothing for me.
