does salt water hot tub taste as bad as going in the sea or the cruise ship pool

Im more interested in building an Epsom Salt. But I will likely have to attempt your own and manage a better material built system for it, as well as PH balancing myself.

I have a Calspas branded Saltron Mini on my hot tub (loving it). I've noticed Hot Springs, Caldera etc which have their own salt systems, recommend hardness to be between 25 and 75. Saltron and Calspas "Calsalt" manual specifies a calcium hardness level of 150 to 200 which is higher than those other salt tubs. Saltron's recommended salt level is also higher at 2000 to 3000 ppn than Hot Springs which is 1750 ppm. Furthermore I noticed a different 3rd party salt system had hardness at 200 to 400 listed for their device. Those other hot tubs like Hot Springs, recommend to use a portable water softener when filling or using Hot Springs own "vanishing act" product to reduce calcium hardness. Water becomes corrosive if too low in calcium though I've been unable to find what "too low" is. It's a bit confusing. And I've found test strip colors can at times have little difference between colors to have confidence in reading. Since Hot Springs is using their own built in unit I am currious if Hot Springs/Caldera would be more concerned on the entire system rather than simply the operation of the salt system as a 3rd party might be, having no responsibility for the tub's plumbing.

Can I use this with a blow up hot tub? And do you have to add a certain amount of salt first?

Plus salt in your kitchen normally has Anti cake powder added and will make the water cloudy

I'm being advised that you can use a saltwater system on any hot tub, and it could completely destroy it. I have a 2016 Jacuzzi spa currently using bromine and can't stand the smell. Considering this as an alternative but I'm concerned it might ruin it.

The people claiming it will destroy the hot tub need to show some information or data that proves their statement. I have not seen anything worthy yet.

I've found my salt water hot tub very difficult to maintain. I've failed at it. I want to convert from salt to a non-salt system. How do I do that?

My salt water tub always has foam issues I'm going to switch to chlorine

Just curious as to why anyone would want to convert to a salt system since everytihng the salt water touches gets ruined??? ie the wood on the deck, the tables and chairs near the tub absolutely everything near the tub that could get wet will get ruined.

Why did Canada ban saltwater systems and why is it basically impossible to purchase salt cartridges; do you think there is a valid health risk?

Saltwater pools and hot tubs are awesome, much less work and much better for you. Chlorine can be unhealthy with a high amount

Much less work? You've obviously never owned one.

WARNING!!!! Terrible Idea, we have seen many spas ruined by these devices. Salt generators are only suited for pools. I have been in the industry for 35 years and my company builds many high end pools and spas. I would never recommend salt chlorination for a portable spa.

Yes: the metal ones (at least). ANYTHING made of metal will be disintegrated eventually. Deploy at your own risk.
