Great video. Perfectly answered my questions about “No Flow” on my salt system. Thank you
@bryanklatt47662 жыл бұрын
Hi....Quick question, the "arrow" on the flow sensor should be pointing towards the salt cell, is that correct? I just pulled mine apart and it is broken, so I have ordered a replacement....Thank you again for you help.. Bryan
@ClearlySeen2 жыл бұрын
The arrow should be pointing in the direction of the water flow. So it will be pointing away from the salt chlorinator.

I have a problem with no flow in my pool heater, I get this message. I cleaned the filter, pump and skimmer. Everything works fine as long as the pump is running, as soon as the pump turns off, when it is turned on again there is no flow. you have to restart it and it works again as long as the pump runs and so on. Thank you for your help. I have a nirvana heater

This is so straightforward! I changed my flow switch 3 to 4 years ago and it looks intact. Does the timing for replacement seem right?
@ClearlySeen2 жыл бұрын
Usually after about three years you may need a new one the best thing to do is to turn your equipment off at the breaker unscrew the flow switch and make sure it’s intact.
@nancxypettigrew61902 жыл бұрын
@@ClearlySeen It looks intact although a bit discoloured. I'm wondering it some of the debris that got into the impeller could have gotten through to the salt cell? Doesn't seem possible but.... ??
@ClearlySeen2 жыл бұрын
It is possible for something to get trapped on the flow switch but the easiest way is to shut the pump down unscrew the flow switch make sure that it’s intact and not broken they do break from time to time
@shawnnamiles43854 ай бұрын
What do I need to do before taking it off? Do I just leave in service mode or something else?
@ClearlySeen4 ай бұрын
I recommend shutting the power completely off to the equipment before doing the replacement
@keyonamedina26854 жыл бұрын
Should we turn anything off before removing and replacing the flow switch?
@ClearlySeen4 жыл бұрын
I would shut the power off at the box but the plug underneath the salt chlorine generator is essentially the same as a home phone jack.

My pool was having this problem and we got it resolved. But now it seems like it’s not pulling water into the pump even though it’s on. Any tips?
@ClearlySeen Жыл бұрын
Sounds like you’re having a prime issue. Sometimes you’re going to need to open the pump lid and use a garden hose to fill it. If that doesn’t work for you after about 10 minutes if it doesn’t prime, make sure your water level is good in your pool. Halfway up the skimmers, there could be a pinhole leak in your section side as well. Typically the first two ways solve it.
@angelinaaaaa345 Жыл бұрын
@@ClearlySeen I tried priming it and let it run, but it looked like it sucked away all that water. I ended up backwashing and rinsing the filter, and that seemed to have done the job. How often are we supposed to backwash/rinse because I had just done it last week and the water stopped pulling thereafter?
@ClearlySeen Жыл бұрын
It depends on how many swimmers and what kind of stuff gets into the pool you can go two weeks. Usually I have some of my customers who I weekly backwash.
@angelinaaaaa345 Жыл бұрын
@@ClearlySeen makes sense! When I backwash, should I do it twice so: backwash, rinse, backwash, rinse? I’m not sure how many times to do it because the site glass has some sand in it that won’t go away
@ClearlySeen Жыл бұрын
Typically you want to backwash until the site glass is clear that could be 2 to 3 minutes depending then you would shut it off and go to rents for around 30 seconds to a minute and that should be it shouldn’t have to do it more than once
@jeanlefebvreGenX4 ай бұрын
Can you bypass the switch temporarily?
@ClearlySeen4 ай бұрын
I’m not aware of how to do that. The flow switch has a little tab on it when that tab connects to another part it sends the signal saying that there is water flow. If you’re having to wait to pick up a flow switch, you can just use some liquid chlorine and chlorine tablets. In the meantime, to keep your pool from going downhill.

red flashing light when system is down. changed out tri-sensor . light still flashes when system is down.then i noticed a flow switch. would that be bad . BTW this is a auto Pilot salt system
@ClearlySeen3 жыл бұрын
Usually the flow switch light will be solid after starting up the pool indicating that the flow switch is bad there is other errors that can occur inside the unit or on the salt cell itself.
@coldworld96063 жыл бұрын
I actually worked on one of my Customers pool today I changed flow switch but red light is still on any recommendations
@ClearlySeen3 жыл бұрын
Did you turn the pool on and wait a minute or two did it flash before it turned red or was it just staying read? Also there is control board problems that could lead to that. Did you make sure that the flow switch was facing the right direction also?

I just had mine installed earlier this week. It will work fine then will stop. I have pump on the highest speed. I cannot locate a flow switch. At all.
@ClearlySeen2 жыл бұрын
The flow switch is gonna have a wire running to it if you don’t see that it may be built-in to the chlorinator depending on the brand
@TheGarnok3 жыл бұрын
you show the water going from the cell through the flo switch in the begin of your video but shouldn't it suppose to be the water going in the flow switch before the cell. Like water ----) flo switch ----) salt cell ----) pool ?

Good eye! I meant to show it going the other way. To bad I can’t edit that! 😁

@ClearlySeen3 жыл бұрын
Usually when you start up the pool the no flow light will flash and then go out within a minute or two if it turns solid then you could have the problem that I showed in the video
