Got me a Shredder. My 97-year-old dad whom I take care of is a clean-freak. Not that he cleans anything. A fly in the house is tantamount to him falling off the toilet, we have both, old man tipping over, flies. Each time I leave the house I place the Shredder next to him. He grins, as his shakey hand holds the Fly-Killer. Something strange and beautiful happens when he grips the Shredder. He lowers the volume of Fox News, that alone is worth the purchase! When I return he looks at me and says. “I wish we had more flies.”

Problem is you shoot few flys you have to waste co2 as you tale it out of gun leaving it in may, probably hurt the seal.
@JohnPauls Жыл бұрын
That is a valid point to be made although the Shred-er excels at larger prey, flys just disintegrate. However, I did not experience that as these lantern flies were available to shoot in abundance, so every cartridge got used to depletion. You are correct though, leaving the cartridge in will potentially damage the seal. Highly advised to not leave it in the gun while not using, also for safety reasons. Thank you Tommy!!!!

The Shred-er no, the others yes. Usually only takes a shot or two, minimal cleanup, although you are looking at a pinch of salt each shot. In the early 90's as a teen i had a 10 pump pneumatic BB gun, i use to put a pinch of salt down the barrel and plug the tip with a small peice of toilet paper and shot bugs of all sizes, everyone i showed thought it was the coolest idea, fast forward 20 + years and i see this thing 😳 of course i had to have it 👍 but using it over the years even tho I LOVE IT, i miss my old BB gun idea cuz it was WAY more powerful than the bug assault, AND unlike their new revolver, it didnt require BUYING CO2 CARTRIDGES... CUMON BUG-A-SALT.... how about take some of the MILLIONS youve made off all of us and give us the BEST version yet... a PUMP UP PNEUMATIC salt gun WITH REFILLABLE TANK ..... NO CO2... Hey there Jeff! First off, thanks for sharing your vintage bug-blasting creativity! Your old BB gun salt trick sounds epic. Just a quick heads-up: the Bug-A-Salt 2.5 and 3.0 are indeed pump action, so no CO2 needed for those models. Just some elbow grease and salt. Only the Shred-er requires CO2 cartridges and ammo. But hey, who knows? Maybe your idea for a supercharged, pump-up pneumatic salt gun will inspire them to create an even more powerful version. Until then, happy salt-blasting!

My only concern would be with the shredder leaving it loaded. For example if you load up and shoot one fly then the shreeder sits for awhile does tne co2 leak? Damage the seal? Etc. My guess is the shredder is more for mass extermination where you plan to use the whole co2 cart up in one usage. The 3.0 probably better for those couple shots and ot being used again for a bit
@JohnPauls4 ай бұрын
Great point and agreed! The Shred-er is indeed designed for those heavy-duty, mass extermination sessions, where you're likely to use up the CO2 cartridge in one go. If you're only taking a few shots and then leaving it for a while, sticking with the 3.0 might be a better choice to avoid any potential CO2 leakage or wear on the seals. It's all about matching the tool to the task at hand. Thank you for your feedback!

@KevinMah-ol5on6 ай бұрын
I've had my 3.0 for a couple years now. WRT spiders, my preference is to catch and relocate outside since they kill other bugs, but sometimes they are in a spot not easy to catch so then I'll shoot them. I have found that about 8/10 times, 1 shot is enough (if shot from within 1 ft) but 2/10 times I'll need a follow-up.
